Thai Airways in Melbourne

News just in, the Thai airways flight into Melbourne 30 minutes ago experienced a very hard landing and blew several tires on landing and caused considerable damage to the runway. Airport currently closed. Reports I'm hearing from inside sources, say he almost lost it when the tires blew, thank god he didnt and all are safe.

I am not surprised, it is one of those filthy northerly windy days here. Just then at lunch time I got belted in the head by a falling branch. Glad to hear everyones OK!

thai flight

The news just on said the plane hit the runway sideways due to strong side winds. This blew out some tyres as stevem said, and also blew a brake line causing a small fire which was put out by the airport firemen.
Passnegers complianed that the crew at know time told them what was going on, even after 45 minates on the tarmac.

Its really going to hurt TG, as they only have 2 A346's and are utilising them pretty heavily at the moment.

Is that passenger saying that they were still sitting on the plane 45 minutes afterwards. If so that against the regs.

Nahhh.....IJ deserves that for being a BIG Butterfly, and walking around Patong without the fear of a crazed bg(s) coming after him.
