Massive facelift
Massive facelift planned for Saphan Hin
PHUKET: The Phuket Provincial Administration Organization (OrBorJor) has called on private investors to join it in developing an 80-rai plot of land at Saphan Hin into a new commercial complex to be called Saphan Hin Park.
OrBorJor President Anchalee Vanich-Thepabutr explained to the Gazette that the organization owns the land at Saphan Hin stretching from the triangle at the Phuket Vocational School to the tin-mining monument.
She said that the project will be split into five zones. The main body of investment will be in Zone 1, from the traffic lights on the Phuket City side to the boxing stadium.
This zone will take in the defunct Lucky Shopping Complex and feature an IT center, a One-Tambon, One-Product (OTOP) shop, a careers center, a tourist information center, and an exercise area and garden. The Lucky Co mplex is slated to become a duty-free center.
She said, “Food vendors will be moved to a new 54-unit OrBorJor-owned location. They will need to invest 700,000 to 800,000 baht each, but we will contact the Government Savings Bank to help them secure loans.”
The boxing stadium is to be demolished, with the proposed OTOP center being erected in its place. A new stadium is planned for next to the Saphan Hin swimming pool.
“We will start this project this year and we believe that we can, with the help of private investors, finish it fast.
“Any private investors who are interested should contact the OrBorJor,” K. Anchalee said. She declined to give, on the record, a figure for the total investment likely to be required.

off topic
off topic steve, but long coat dogs, any problem with them in phuket, in terms of heat stroke, coat care, ticks etc.
i remember in my time in northern australia and malaysia the german sheperds always required heaps of care in these places.
used to use medicated anti-tick shampoo, on the sheperds and check their paws everyday for ticks etc.
noticed some nice sheperds in los, and will probably have 2 when i settle down.

I guess there might be if you imported them from a colder place, but when they are born and breed there no problems.
Was talking to the guy at quarrantine in Singapore, and says the dogs coming from UK have heaps of problems with the heat in Singapore.
