Chalong Temple fair
phuket: this year’s chalong temple fair will take place – officially – from january 28 to february 3. the event will feature many thai cultural and entertainment activities, including a nang taleung shadow puppet show, folk music, plays and classical thai music. highlights will include performances by popular singers from bangkok including yingyong yodbuangam, cattareeya marasri, mangpor chonthicha and pamela bouwdent. in addition, the phuket branch of the thai red cross society will organize a number of games and a prize draws, the first prize being a toyota vios car. about 600 stalls will be set up selling food and handicrafts. the fair will be open all day, closing at 1:30 am. for more information call opas chobdee at tel: 06-9533199.
