Dr. Love conceives resort in Phuket

At the Friday 10th of February meeting of the International Business Association of Phuket (IBAP) the creation of a new resort in Phuket was announced by Singapore's internationally acclaimed TV star Doctor Love, real name Dr. Wei M.B.B.S (Hons), Medical Doctor. Dr. Love created Singapore's first sex edutainment TV show "Love Airways", Singapore's highest rated late night TV show, and is being propelled internationally with a media partnership with Fremantle Media (makers of Baywatch and American Idol) to create "Dr Love's Super Baby Making Show", a reality TV show were couples try to conceive a baby.

Having been featured on a large number of media outlets, including CNN, Fox and the Discovery Channel, the Post caught up with Dr. Love at the Mangosteen Resort, "I have just come from Bangkok where I have been hloding a series of meetings with the TAT and various hospital networks about the creation of a international chain of "Dr. Love" style fertility clinics. The success of "Love Airways" has caused a buzz in Singapore and is now being picked up in Malaysia and Indonesia and right now we are trying to capitalise on this by not only offering the information to help improve sexual fertility but by also the means to facilitate it. We are working on branding every aspect of the fertility process from the creation of the information to the standardising of the practitioners to the development of the facilities."

Already working with some major companies as part of the TV shows, including the Fitness First exercise chain and the high-end matress maker Tempur, Dr. Wei is now looking to companies in Thailand to work as partners in creating the first Dr. Love Resort and Phuket has been selected as the most suitable location. "There is already a health tourism industry here. There is an infrastructure that I can work with and with proper planning the resort can offer a counter-balance to the busy lives so many people in Asia and the world live. In Singapore there is little time or space for sexual intimacy but my TV shows have shown that there is a great interest in the changing of sexual attitudes."

The resort is still in the planning stages but the concept is already clear with a defined strategy of tailoring everything from medical and cultural techniques to food preparation in order to create a positive environment for andropausal and menopausal intimacy rejuvenation. "Medical tourism is a growing industry but often fails to promote itself in the media for fear of creating the wrong image, that they are simply pushing a product. Mass marketing for healthcare has always needed to be more subtle than marketing for most products. My vision for Phuket as a "Love Island" is complete and now I just have to decide who my business partners will be and which part of the island to locate the resort."
