The Nation: Court acquits former chief of Harbour dept
The Criminal Court acquitted on Thursday two former top executives and five serving officials of the Harbour Department in a case relating to a collapsed Bt1.79 billion contract to procure canal-dredging boats.

Know the guy, Wit Worakupt,former Director-General of the Harbour Department in BKK. Ordered 2 dredgers in the US by a company on the verge of bancrupcy. Company went bancrupt before they "could" build the dredgers.
He then retired.  Normally the top dredgers are not US build, this is a specialised market where you order in the Netherlands or Germany.
