Talk about mess..
Now cost implications of the move back, wasting of SWP investment, etc all mean they want to stay put in a failing airport..
The place is already at over capacity, yet they intend to repair around them..
Looks like we are going to have this ongoing saga for years as they just keep eternally patching without getting to the nut of the issue and solving..

I think they just want the government to pay for them to move yet again. not cheap. I think there is a LOT of politics going on in the background. different camps waring over thiefdoms.

Just emailed China Air. Requesting they change my departure from BKK to KL or Singapore. Everyone should do this. If the airlines start getting massive emails for changes because of safety concern. Who knows. Maybe something will be done.

SORRY but it wont ! on past experience the only considerATION given will be how much (in thailand bhat is king) they could not give a f uck about tourists problems or safety concerns i am flying out with emerites in 32 days time i am expecting to land at the new airport! my taxi to pattaya is picking me up from the new airport ! and that is how i expect it to be ! if i find that i am landing at don muang then i will give serious thought on wheether to return to los.
if i was landing at don muang i always spend a couple of days in bangkok first because the new airport is closer to pattaya i will go straight there.
but i wont lose any sleep worrying about it i will just go with the flow and see what happens !

Whilst on the subject.............
It is now known that 71 flights by only three domestic carriers - Nok Air, One Two Go and some Thai Airways services - will resume from Don Muang on March 25.

LiL, the link does say "known"
Perhaps an Australian newspaper carries more credibilty than a Thai newspaper on this matter?

I wouldn't hold my breath, given the delays in opening Suvarnabhumi.
As ever, the public using the airports have to wait until they know where they are arriving/landing/transiting.

It's not about whether the papers are credible, it's the information they are getting fed to report and who the source is. The problem here is that there are too many stakeholders involved, all with different agendas. It will be interesting to see where this will go. Every day, you get a new twist.
