The Nation: WB slashes Thai growth forecast to 4.3 per cent
The World Bank said Thursday it has slashed its projection for Thailand's economic growth to 4.3 per cent this year due to sagging investor confidence and slower exports.

Against the dollar ??? Dollars going to the toilet..
People argued against me (more so on ThaiVisa) when it was at 40 baht to the USD.. They are still doing so now.. Offshore rates at 31 / 32 in last few weeks.. Fed is being pushed by housing crunch to lower rates.. Stagflation looks in the numbers.. When the fed starts lowering rates dollar index is gonna be knocking on 80.. If it crosses that then look out below.. These are multi year issues though.. If you mean a couple % up or down next month then flip a coin..

Citibank - Thailand and Citibank - US took the offshore/onshore spread (they were the agent(s) on the transfer), not to mention the fees on top, and the buy/sell spread they make to boot.  I'm pretty sure I would have been better off just going to the ATM numerous times and withdrawing max amount. Luckily, not talking about a lot of money though...

ATM's were offshore rates (read bad) a couple of months ago.. I read elsewhere that most but not all were adapting to onshore rates (good)..
People should consider that when taking money from ATM's.. Check that they are not getting 10% or so difference thanks to currency controls. Makes you wonder if you couldnt pull money out of the hole in the wall at 35 to the USD (500 USD per day) and once a week wire a transfer out to the account that visa uses to get the offshore rate of 32 ish.. All adds up..
