That's why they call it the "low season"
TTG Asia: Thailand to boost low season numbers
Bangkok (2007-04-12)
THE Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has targeted one million arrivals for this year's low season between April and October.
The organisation plans to achieve the target with more marketing activities and by working more closely with the private sector.
Emerging markets India and China will be the focus of promotions, along with Japan - which has seen arrivals to Thailand drop alarmingly in recent months.
The TAT is also targeting niche tourists from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Thailand hopes to attract 14.8 million international visitors this year. It receives an average of 800,000 to 900,000 arrivals each month, according to the TAT.
