Farangs steal 500,000baht from teacher
This was in Pattaya
3 farangs rob Thai teacher of half a million baht
A group of cunning thieves followed a woman from the bank, punctured her tire and then notified her that her tire was flat. When she went to investigate, one of the criminals opened the rear door of the car and snatched a brown paper bag containing five hundred thousand baht.
On 16 September 2007, at 2 PM, Investigation Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanagrit Larb-Ithisan was informed of foreign thieves who stole money from a school teacher. A police team, led by Deputy Superintendent Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai Kru-prasertwatana, rushed to Arunothai School, Moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi, to investigate.
The victim, Miss Songporn Buab-em (45), a teacher from Arunothai School, was waiting for officials, next to her black Honda Accord automobile, license 5826, Chonburi. She pointed out the rear, left tire, which had been punctured. She said that she had gone to the Krung-Sri-Ayuthaya Bank, in Central Pattaya, to withdraw five hundred thousand baht, to be used for her house construction. She placed the money in a brown paper bag and put it in the rear seat. She was about to drive the car away from the bank when she detected something bumping her tire. However, not noticing anything amiss, she drove her car back to the administrative office of her school.
Later, a group of three foreign men, with Middle Eastern appearances, followed her in a black Toyota Yaris automobile, license 8924, Uthai-thani. Miss Songporn recalled that one of them had a shaved head and wore a necktie, similar to bank staff. Another man wore a red singlet and the third man had blond hair and was dressed smartly. The driver and the blond man came out of their car to tell Miss Songporn that her tire was flat. The man with the shaved head pointed out the rear, left tire, with the puncture. Meanwhile, the third man walked to the other side of the car, opened the door and snatched the brown paper bag containing the five hundred thousand baht. At that moment, Miss Songporn was unaware that she had been robbed. The three men drove their car toward central Pattaya.
Police looked up the car license number and discovered that the car, driven by the three men, had been rented from One Stop Car Rental Service, at the three road junction, on Theprasit Road. Miss Songporn went to the car rental agency and was able to identify one of the thieves from his passport picture. Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai theorized that his was a well planned crime. They rented the car, observed the victim withdrawing money from the bank, followed the target and punctured her tire at an opportune moment. Police have already found a suspect, but have not identified him yet. Police will pursue the investigation and arrest the entire gang as soon as possible.

Middle Eastern appearance with Blond hair!
Renting a car using your actual passport to then use that vehicle in a robbery .........Shouldn't take long to find them!
Surprised they didn't have a gun, fired it, didn't go off, so looked down the barrel and pull the trigger again!

From PattayaDailyNews>>>
PATTAYA AND BANGKOK POLICE NAB ONE OF THE HALF MILLION BAHT THIEVES
One of the thugs involved in robbing a teacher of 500,000 baht, by following her from the bank, puncturing her tire and snatching a paper bag filled with the money, was arrested in Bangkok. Evidence included much cash and copies of receipts from currency exchangers. The other two men, involved in this crime, are still at large.
We previously reported on three foreigners, who escaped after robbing half million baht, in cash, from Miss Songporn Bueb-em (45), a teacher at Pattaya-Arunothai School, Chonburi, on 26 September 2007
In a late breaking development, on 28 September 2007, at 12:40 AM, Pattaya Superintendent Police Colonel Suthin Subphuang and a police team blockaded the fourth floor of Ma Boon Krong Center in Bangkok. The police succeeded in arresting Mr. Jose Luis Perez Mendoza (41), from Guatemala, under arrest warrant No. 102/2550, issued by the Pattaya Court, dated 27 September 2007.
Mr. Mendoza was charged with conspiring to steal money from Miss Songporn’s black Honda Accord, license 5826, Chonburi and escaping to hide in Bangkok.
The police retrieved evidence on Mr. Mendoza’s person, including his passport, 53,400 baht cash, $108 (US), 14 Malaysian Ringit, three receipts from currency exchangers and a copy of a transfer slip for 62,200 baht from Siam Commercial Bank, Ma Boon Krong Branch to Matha Lucero Morales Nguera, dated 27 September 2007, at 2:20 PM.
Police Major Chaigrit Thong-in stated that, following the robbery, Police Colonel Suthin instructed the police to give top priority to the case in order to arrest the perpetrators; after Miss Songporn was able to identify the face picture of one of the suspects, Mr. Mendoza. Mr. Mendoza was the man who pretended to inform Miss Songporn about having a flat tire, after the three gangsters had punctured the tire themselves in front of the bank before she drove her car back to her school. One of the thieves, audaciously, snatched the bag containing the 500,000 baht, while Miss Songporn checked out the tire. After taking the money, the thieves got back into their car and drove toward Central Pattaya, with Miss Songporn’s money.
Miss Songporn was able to identify the thieves’ car, a black Toyota Yaris, license 8924, Utaithani. Police discovered that the car had been rented from One Stop Service Car Rental on the T-junction of Theprasit Road. The renter was Mr. Jose Luis Perez Mendoza (41). Police showed Miss Songporn Mr. Mendoza’s picture, as well as the CCTV recording from Krung Sri Ayuthaya Bank, where Miss Songporn had withdrawn the money and she was able to, positively, identify the perpetrator. Pattaya Police investigators, the Tourist Police and the Pattaya Criminal Suppression Center Police were able to track the suspects’ car to Bangkok.
In a joint effort between Pattaya and Bangkok police, it was discovered that Mr. Mendoza was walking on the fourth floor of Ma Boon Krong Center in Bangkok. Armed with an arrest warrant, the police immediately blockaded the floor and managed to apprehend Mr. Mendoza, the person that the victim identified in the picture. Evidence included cash and a receipt for the transfer of 62,200 baht from Siam Commercial Bank, Ma Boon Krong Branch to Matha Lucero Morales Nguera, Mr. Mendoza’s wife, in Columbia. When nabbed, Mr. Mendoza pretended that he couldn’t speak English and denied all charges. Mr. Mendoza was brought back to Pattaya to face charges.
Miss Songporn rushed to the police station to identify the suspect. When she saw Mr. Mendoza, she positively identified him as one of the thieves. Police are confident that he is one of the gang, as they obtained much evidence including: the CCTV record, cash slips from money changers and a copy of money transfer slip to his wife. Police also found out that he has a criminal record in his home country. The police will attempt to apprehend and arrest the other two criminals involved in this heinous crime, as soon as possible.
