The organizers of the annual international soccer 7s tournaments held for the past 5 years bringing tourists and promoting Phuket as a sports holiday destination, informed Andaman News that this November they have 600 participants hoping to come again to Phuket but unfortunately the future of this tournament and other international tournaments (like cricket and rugby) is in jeopardy due to a lack of a decent pitch. It stated that this year the Rotary Club of Patong spent a huge amount of money repairing the playing surface of Karon Stadium to a very good standard, but the stadium surface is now in a state of disrepair. They would appreciate any advice or assistance in ensuring that they have a good playing venue for the Phuket International Soccer 7s that will be held in 7 weeks time.
