l see that the airport and the taxi "system" gets slated yet again.......with good reason.

I actually went into Gonzo Bar last night for a look see.The place is OK and there are a few pleasant girls working there.The toilets could do with a make over and the pool table just gets in the way.

Dont think they need to bother to change anything as the bar is soon history.....
Assie Bar is taking over as soon as the lease expires........I think in less than a year.........
Might be good news for soi Gonzo as the Gonzo-bar (the way it's built now) is blocking the view into the soi.............

What I know is that the Thai owner, a nice friendly guy, sold it last year to a farang (German)? The Thai still has a bar opposite Gonzo (I think U2), his sister moved from working in Gonzo to Shipwreck..
Maybe the guy new about the lease before?

Geir - I was also told that the Aussie Bar were after it and going to build an upstairs and connect with a walkway over the Gonzo entrance.

That is going to give the Aussie Bar a large frontage.I don't think the bars in Gonzo will benefit from it though.

I think if they take down the wall in the back of Gonzo-bar, the soi will open up more even if they are building a second floor.
On the other hand I think Aussie-bar is getting to big and with all the key-money involved it's going to be hard to justify the investments......Steve (owner) said he would try to slow down a bit because of his heart-condition, but this dont sound like slowing down to me

I heard Crusties rumour about December time and a couple of days ago in BKK I heard from someone who tends to have an ear to the ground in Patong that Aussie bar had pulled out of the deal.
So.. who knows????
