Just dont realise sometimes how lucky we are really with things..

You're right. In accordance we make more money that buffers the rising of the price of life, but petrol prices the last months don't make me happy neither...

Petrol costs make me SICK - In England now it costs so much to fill up your car! I went to Egypt last year for a week and the cost of it out this is really cheap... In Europe everything seems to cost so much... But then again we do have it better with our great Summers!!

Cant say inflation hasnt been obvious coming down the pipe.. Its what happens when we elect leaders that print money.. simple !!

But food price inflation on staples, that hurts the poorest the most and the least able to protect themselves. Rice is up what ?? 80 %...

in NZ its been dairy...across the board its been like 80+% on cheese and 50+ on butter and milk over the past year with a couple of big spikes already this year.....add that to petrol and all the other staples and the CPI is bangin on about 6%...the highest in about 20 years

Dont tell me.. The cheap basic cheeses here are NZ stuff.. So we get the NZ inflation, and the rising NZ dollar and the NZ transport fees.

Block of basic mature cheddar now about 165 up from 110 or so a year or two back. And thats without getting into the fancy nice stuff.

Yes, people are hording. There was a picture on the front page of the Post showing people returning from songkran in the village carrying sacks of rice to Bangkok.

Keep your eye on China. It is there sudden increase of wealth that is a major factor and they have to keep their people fed and have the military to back it up.

Thailand said they will honor all export contracts. Meanwhile they also acknowledge more is disappearing through cracks.

Rice is the new white gold. Maybe soon the poor rice farmer won't leave their farm to find riches elsewhere.
