Phuket faces AIDS crisis

Phuket faces AIDS crisis

PHUKET, May 9 (TNA) - Thailand's southern tourist resort island of Phuket is home to a worryingly high rate of new HIV cases, being one of the nation's top 10 provinces for AIDS infection, according to the province's chief medical official.

Dr. Wanchai Satyawutiphong told reporters, however, that the government's provision of anti retroviral drugs had led to more people with HIV coming out into the open about their conditions, which would help prevent future infection.

Stressing that AIDS is a preventable disease, he ,nonetheless, pointed to a worryingly high new incident rate of HIV infection on the resort island. (TNA)

More reason to have compulsory testing at bars I believe it was a little while ago Nicke that you asked whether we would pay a bit more for the BF if you had to test the girls on a regular basis I think the majority was in favour and would be happy to pay an extra 50 bht or there abouts for this service.

I wouldn't mind paying the extra, if i knew that it was really going to be for testing. But human nature being what it is, I think that some bar owners would just pocket the extra 50.

The news of higher infection rates in Patong is certainly alarming, but not so surprising when you consider how loose some of the girls are about condom use!

From other posts it seems an alarming amount of board members have done it without protection. This should be a wake up call to anyone who has done it.

Sorry for that brash reply .What I meant that even with my intensions before my trips to LOS about NEVER having unprotected sex again,I unfortunataly sometimes end up in situations where I do !!
I never intentionally go for sex in LOS without protection, but I`m embarrased to say that on all my 10 trips (exept my first one)I have been with girls in some instances when I`ve had unprotected sex !!
As a rule I do cover up,but what I`m trying to say that with alcohol consumption, environment etc. It`s easy to lose judgement some times !!
Just my 2 satangs-worth..........cheers.

Yes, yahooka! It is way too easy. My first tour it was my intention to always cover up and not to eat any pussy, just to be extra safe. I did cover up 100% except for condom breaks, and only one time when that happened did I keep banging her. But the no eating pussy rule went out the window with the first girl I was with. Her pussy tasted way too good!

The 2nd tour, I started out double-bagging, so I would not have to worry about condom breaks. After a month, I slipped up. Not because of alcohol. Because of girls who didn't want me to use a condom. And because of ego. They make you feel like you are invincible, like you are a god. That feeling makes it easy to slip up. I had unprotected sex about 30 times in the last 4 weeks I spent there on 2nd tour.

On the 3rd tour, I was 100% a good boy! No slip-ups. I gave myself a gold star on my forehead and a couple of green cards, too!

Last tour, again at about the one month mark or a little short of it, I slipped up. Same story. Girls who don't want to use condoms. But I was more careful than on the 2nd tour. This time it wasn't alcohol, and it wasn't ego, since I was very aware of the risks and thought about it even as I was doing it. It was just that it felt so damn good! When I really liked a girl a lot, and I got that warm, cozy, loved-up feeling with her, it felt just like it used to with my wife, when I was married, in the years when things were good between us. The feeling I'm talking about is part physical sensation, but more than that, becaue I never slipped up with a girl that I didn't have feelings for. It was the combination of sexual feeling and emotional warmth, that feeling of being so-o-o-o close to the other person, that made it hard to say no to them, when they say, "No condom." It just felt too damn good. I was high for sure, but not on alcohol.

The truth is that this has a lot to do with why my attitude about being a butterfly has changed. If I find one girl that I really get that feeling strong with, then maybe I will get her tested, and stick with her. The sex is so much better when you feel that warmth, that free and easy feeling between you and her, that connection.

Of course, even to get a girl tested, and stick to one girl, there is still risk. because of the lag time between infection and the antibodies showing up on a test. But the risk is a little more calculated.

All of this troubles me greatly. I'm just thinking out loud. Of course, covering up is the way to go. No doubt about it. No worries about preganancy that way, either! But I am just saying that I think a lot of guys are like Yahooka and me. Best of intentions, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions! It's not easy!

"Double bagging" has a higher risk of breakage than using one because of the friction between the two.

I have a colleague at work who has an "interesting" view point on this subject. He told me that when he goes to Pattaya once a year he never uses a condom. First of all he doesnt like wearing one but secondly he said that with todays progress and level of efficiency for HIV medicine, that could easily keep him alive the rest of his days if he got AIDS.

A very selfcentered point of view because if that bean gets it and keep having unprotected sex he might infect other innocent people.

Needless to say he isnt the sharpest tool in the shed...

I'm sure his opinions would change very quickly if he tested positive for H.I.V and it would be a terrible inconvenience(to say the least) even if he was kept alive with the use of medicine

Exactly, exactly. Farangs may well have access to good drugs and live a happy life while carrying HIV, but also be free to go back to Pattaya or wherever else he dips his wick and spread it around some more. What about the simple, trusting young women who don't have the same medical facilities?

I know the arguments, but I believe that refusing to wear a condom is a pretty selfish act. And just how big a pot of porridge is being stirred out there? Big enough for Braveheart himself I reckon, bloody big! Each to their own, but not for me thanks...

Got to agree.

It all very good for the yah sayers to blather on about you must wear condom or your stupid - Duh. Every man and his dog knows that. So what are you trying to prove.

On many occassion you go home semi-drunk, have a blow job and fall asleep with all good intentions to bang her senseless (with rubber) in the morning when your well and rested only to find your TG LBFM fully engaged on your self erecting penial code in the wee hours of the morning humping yyou awake. It happens.

So even with the best of intentions and all the knowledge in the world how do you prtect yourself from this very common LBFm behaviour - Wear a chastity belt when you sleep? Super glus a franger to your best mate???

And trust me I am not the only one that this haoppens too - I have heard the story from many another BM and monger alike (And yes it has happened when I have not been drunk with a hangover as well)...

I suppose the best protection is to not go to LOS and lock yourself in a closet.

Also dont put on the Brave FACE cos i know these guys and it has changed there Life completly knowing they are a Ticking Time Bomb

The Thai Girl who has HIV is lovely YOU ALL on this Forum would shag her 100% she is a Perfect 9 in looks .If you was to see her you would be shocked and it would make you think ??

Also there is a High % Rate of girls who work to pay for there Medicene ?? otherwise they die - 4k a Month is alot of dosh and they have to get the Money somewho ???

As for Nicke's idea about the regular check THAT will NOT work it takes 6 months to show up in the Blood stream ?? how many shorts have they done that day the NEXT DAY !!! ALSO it might put the Punters off being reminded of HIV and STDs ... The gogo bars most of them have removed there Notice about there girls of clean COS THEY KNOW ITS IMPOSSIBLE .

The assholes that bad rep me for no reason never leave a name either. I would much prefer a PM to discuss whatever arguement. But Saying "don't believe the hype" about such a thing isn't a good idea in my opinion. I don't think there is any harm in a little over-paranoia when it comes to aids.

Hi Safeas,

I think that maybe you are a very smart guy, who has the willpower and presence of mind to always cover up 100% of the time. I commend you for that, and I wish that we were all as good as you.

But, unfortunately, there are lots of guys like Yahooka, Bafana, and myslef, sho have slipped up from time to time and always feel the danger that we could slip up again. For guys like us, I think that constant reminders are helpful. I know it will never happen, but I think that they should have big signs in every lady bar, "Don't forget to use Condom! Play safe!" or the like, as a reminder to the BGs and the guys both.

As far as this thread, any time there is an increase in the rate of infection in Phuket, I definitely want to know about it. The addtional info that this thread has brought out in Big Al's post, about guys with HIV on the island, and gorgeous BGs with HIV having to go with even more guys to pay for their medicine, is very important info, as far I am concerned.

Thanks, Nicke! Thanks Big Al. Thank you for kepping us informed and up to date on the AIDS Crisis. As long as people are dying and other people are having their lives ruined, I believe that AIDS really is a crisis! It's scary stuff. IMHO, Big Al's disclousure blows a giant hole in the myth that none of the guys patronizing the BG business get HIV! They could be sitting on the barstool next to you and you would probably never know that they have it. I don't think they will be publicizing the fact any time soon!

JayBee

HI
Just also to add
I did see a AIDS Report on Phuket around 6 Months ago im sure it was Phuket Gazette that in Phuket there are around 2,600 registered with HIV

I live here and have for a very Long time and know many friends Farang and BGs who have died of HIV - Its very Sad ,Im sure Nicke also knows quite a Few .The post was not to scare people of HIV just true FACT'S

All the girls are lovely thats the best thing with thailand but you play with FIRE ,Also if you had HIV would you want to give it to that nice little BG ??
Its not just about BGs giving to Farang you should also take care of the GIRL

How many girls do you have on your trip to LOS ?
10 ? One Of them girls is HIV

I heard the PERCENT was around 4 out of 10

As for Vietnam MR Bush donated Millions $$$ cos they have announced a high alert and say girls between 16/21 yrs is around 60%

If you go around phuket town the have many signs now on school walls which say the following

girls - women - hiv - aids ??

Only seen this in the last 2 months or so !!!
Mind you i will also say you can shag a girl with HIV and not catch HIV
You could shag her 10 times and not get but on the 11 time you get .

Its not that easy to catch unless you have blood contact or you catch a STD From the girl then your at 99% risk
