Interview with Peter Withe, Head Coach of the Indonesian national football team and previously of the Thai team, who gave a football clinic on Sunday, with his son Jason, to local kids affected by the tsunami.
We asked him first about his current position as coach of Indonesia and how it’s going there:
2) why are Indonesia not taking part in the pre-SEA tournament in Bangkok this week with the SEA games in Manila coming up in December?
3) now today how did you and your son decide to help coach tsunami affected kids here?
4) what do you think of the talent and attitude?
5) is it difficult to train/motivate in the heat/sun?
6) have you noticed any differences/similarities here since your term as Thai national coach, and with Indonesian kids?
7) How badly were the Indonesian kids and your players affected by the tsunami?
8) was the national team’s loss to Singapore in Tiger Cup in January partly caused by distractions of the disaster?
9) Do you think SE Asian teams could get to the Olympics & World Cup one day?
10) do you think some of the Thai players could ever play in the EPL in future?
