Phuket, Tourism Association President, & local hotels are nominated for World Travel Awards


Every year in November the World Travel Awards are given to leading travel destinations, personalities and companies around the world, after tens of thousands of travel professionals cast their favorites on the WorldTravelAwards.com web site. The Awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate achievements in all sectors of the global travel industry. These are the world's most comprehensive travel awards and Phuket has 9 nominees. Pattanapong Aikwanich, the President of the Phuket Tourist Association, has been nominated for Destination & Convention Bureau Travel Personality of the Year, along with 3 other nominees, to be chosen by all the Ministers of Tourism. But local Phuket travel & tourism companies can vote online before the deadline of 29 September for other nominations: Phuket has been nominated as Asia's Leading Destination, along with Bangkok and 5 other nominees. The Amanpuri Phuket, Banyan Tree Phuket, Le Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club, Burasari Phuket, Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, Blue Canyon Country Club, and Evason Phuket, Phuket have also been nominated for various awards.
