The Phuket Governor will discuss Phuket Bay development with related officials 20Oct

The Phuket Governor will discuss Phuket Bay development with related officials today

In a follow up to the cabinet’s approval in principle for Phuket Bay development last September, Phuket Governor Udomsak Uswarangkura, said that he will call a meeting with related senior officials to consult and discuss the project to put into action today. They will include officials from the Finance Ministry, the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) and legal experts. Mr Udomsak said there are at least 3 investors showing their interest in this mega project. They are a Japanese company, Thung Ka Harbour and Ital-Thai which he said will all be given fair chances.
The mega project will comprise houses, a sports complex, marina, hotels, international convention and exhibition centre, resorts and land filled islands.

& last week:

The Phuket Governor insisted on support for Phuket Bay Development and prepared to call a meeting with related agencies to pursue the project

Following the Thai cabinet’s approval in principle, of the development of Phuket Bay on the island’s Saphan Hin tip, during its mobile meeting in Phang-Nga early September, Phuket Governor Udomsak Uswarankura said, during a CEO meeting yesterday, that the authority has a policy to pursue with the project under private investment. He asked the provincial office to explain to all parties concerned and to consult and coordinate with 4 main parties. They include the Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop’s advisor as Mr. Suwat oversees the Andaman region’s development; the Finance Ministry as it is a mega project; the National Economic and Social Development Board; In doing so the project can then get started.
Mr. Udomsak also pointed out that he was approached by a Japanese investor about whom he needs to check their financial stability. The project will need around 65 billion baht and comprises a major entertainment complex, international convention centre, residential compound and sports complex.
