I've just stumbled upon a post by "I Love Aaliyah" describing his horrific experience of being hunted down by a wild pack of ladyboys. How common is this scenario in Phuket? Do many of the ladyboys know muy thai? Am I going to have to buy a male chastity belt to keep safe when I'm there? What would Julius Ceasar have done in such a situation?

i never encountered any problems with them.they may come up and flirt and try and grab your privates but its all a laugh,just laugh it off and say no if you dont want them and they will be ok about it.i certainly wasnt chased anywhere by packs of them.
most are actually a good laugh if you take time to have a chat with them,and if in patong most are always round soi katoey anyway.

Im certainly not scared of the ladyboys so dont worry!!!!
It was actually quite funny!
They will never harm u, only if u piss them off!
Its the same with girls/guys/ladyboys - u show them respect and they will be fine to u. yeah they'll try and grab u, but u just have to be polite and take it as a joke!
As long as you show respect, you will never get in trouble!!!!
