Nightlife in Patong

Having spent many nights in Patong (first time in 1994), i wanted to be the first to post a message in this new forum. I just came back from Patong where i spent 16 days (3 weeks at all in Thailand); i usually spent most of my night in Soi Eric where i think there is a better way to welcome people. What i didn't like of my holiday was to see a lot of people looking for some more fun after 2 a.m.; i think it's crazy to close so early and i hope, also for venues owner that are loosing a lot of money, that i will be able to see again a later closing time. About this, anyone knows how the things about the entertainment zones are going?
