It seems that Flash is closing at the end of the month, I am still hoping this is an April fools joke but it would appear not. I have contacted Patong’s Arts and Architecture Dept to have the toilets preserved as a cultural monument. This is going to be like loosing a close friend: RIP Flash (nearly) gone but not forgotten.

Another icon gone...sad...been there but never like the place as dragon was way above in terms of quality and entertainment!

Personally never really like Flash always too crowded and small, but it is none the less part of the Patong nightlife scene, and any closure is bad news

I havent heard anything so I dont know but you are wrong Malaysian, Flash was no 1 in Patong for many years with their nude and lesbian shows and sometimes also with farang girls.

After they were closed down 2nd time they had to be more careful and please authorities, a 3rd hit would be a permanent closure. (Or something like this If I remember correct)

I am surprised as I thought Franco was nicely welded in there at the end of the soi..

Also dissagree with M.. Dragon is ok for a visual perve but its not got the same real gogo vibe that many smaller (darker) etsablishments have.. I kind of feel Dragon is a bit tourist safe end of the market.

To each his own then, but i had been to Flash twice...once before I ever knew about MTB and after that last year...never saw any shows and the girls were way below in terms of quality whatmore the place was too small for it to be stifling for me. I heard about Flash heydays but had never experienced it and so i cannot comment.

Agreed 100%, when Gob and Nok were doing the lesbian shows it was incredible I would sit in the dark and blush at such goings on. We have all sat and watched fat ugly girls dropping ping pong balls out of their money makers, half the audience would be bored and usually carried on talking during the show, this did not happen in Flash. The first time I saw the two girls mentioned doing the lesbian show I was amazed, and after ten minutes I realised my mouth was open and I was dribbling. I closed my mouth and looked around the room at thirty guys all with their mouths open aghast. When the show stopped spontaneous clapping and cheering. This was the first show they did and they got a whoooole lot better at it.

It is going to become a coffee shop....ho hum.

Flash was the best agogo in Patong for years and years (maybe besides the unforgotten Pink Panther) and it was pure fun to sit in there; hassling for drinks was at a minimum after the girls knew you, good shows, nice girls and a strict regimen; I never had problems with bills or service in all the many years I went there.

Of course, after the Social Crusade of the current government, sitting in an agogo would only be good out of a feeling of tradition.

I would think it very sad if Flash would be gone (and I have not heard anything that this particular piece of info would be actually true).

Hi guys!
Went in there a few days ago.
Total waste of time and money, didn't even finish my drink!

No one even lifted an eyebrow when I walked in!?
Only 3 GoGo-dancers where up on stage, of which one was a drunken male farang!

Rest where just sitting in one corner.
Aircon was turned off, hot and smelly in there, athmosphere same as a funeral!
Maybe they had already given up and where just waiting for the sledgehammer?

I talked to Franco today, he will finish in Soi Eric but will open up somewhere else. Thats all I know for the time being.

Shame.. Franco always seemed like a firendly and fair host.. If someone like him with his experience cant make a go of it then I doubt anyone can.

went to flash closing party, he said that his going to do renovations it will take two months. his still keeping the place but planning to make it a lounge kind of place with big screen tv.good coffee,more of a relaxing place...
but it's sad to see it go, great gogo bar firt time there was about 12 1/2 years ago

to me that would make no sense at all?!

if the price increase is not the cause for closing a reasonably busy a-gogo and he is staying there, why open a coffee bar, who drinks coffee on a night out? And Eric is empty/closed in the day.

Sounds bizarre to me.

Might actually work in that location.... All glass frontage, lounge sofas and good cocktail. Relaxing looking down into the mayham of Soi Eric.... I will be a customer!

At least for me, after the Social order Crusade and the girls wearing clothes all the time, the "traditional" agogo format just does not work any more; why would I pay the double drink prices and more than double for the bar fine if I can have the same thing right in the bars outside?

So maybe it is a try to fix those weeknesses. And a place like Club Rio seems to do just fine (in a very different location, but Flash should have enough "return customers" who would come for the old times, as I am one form time to time).

A concept that could work or will fail spectacular, but no risk no gain...
