All in the genes.
In the process of packing for my long awaited trip to Thailand, i basically would like to know what the dress code is for nightclubs in Patong. Will jeans/shirt and casual shoes get me into most places or do i need to pack some pants.

Farangs out on the town in Patong are not exactly known for their dress sense.
In fact quite a lot of them walk around looking like a bag of sh*t tied up in the middle.
Is it any wonder that farang are looked down on by many Thais??
Also, I've heard it many, many times from girls that a lot of
farangs stink.

I havent been to any clubs in Thailand where dresscode was a thing, not even bed supper club in BKK.
I figure there wouldnt be any difference if you came there with a map in your backpocket, one of those bags you have on your stomache and a camera hanging from your neck.

The reality is that u can wear anything u want but if u make an effort to dress fashionably then it will definately attract alot of positive attention from the girls, especially the really good looking ones
But the beauty of LOS and in particular Phuket is each to their own

When you are in phuket, looking many guys walking around like sh1t, i am sure you will laugh about your question. i am sure you are someone taking care how he looks like, so donīt worry. and as geespot mentioned, the girls will be attracted to a well dressed gent. so anything better then trash bags will fit i am wondering how some guys can watch and show their holiday pics at home, dressed like fools . but everybody to its own and nothing can disfigure a nice person

Hot crotch
You might find that it is too hot and sticky to wear long jeans here. You can pick up some dress light weight shorts over here very cheaply.

Same here, No problems wearing jeans, Even wearing shoes is no problem for me, Although wont be bringing any nice shoes with me to los again, Because I ruined 2 lovely pairs that I had hardly worn out there, Due to the state of the pathways and roads, Kept tripping over the cracks in the pavements and scrapping the shoes, And anynight I got back to the hotel after wearing them, They would be filty dirty...
So in future will just bring a couple of pairs of runners which are easier to clean...

Crawling home in the gutter after a night out has the same affect on good shoes. Are you sure it was the cracks in the pavement, Ally?

Well it could have had a little to do with the drink aswell
But all jokes aside, The pavements are shit, And when I say cracks, Its more like holes, And the way the shores are all either higher or lower than the pavements, I tend to trip over the fu*kers half the time, Possibly due to me looking out for all the talent along the way, Instead of watching where I am walking...
So in future will just stick to the runners instead...
