Nice for you but what do want to tell us? everything about joiner fee is already writen in many post. and a very good thread run by a BM with all info about the hotels. so maybe you want to add something or just forgot what was your intension?

Obviously he is talking about "his" room. But still not funny.

TremenDoh, if you want to avoid paying such a fee if you have booked into a hotel, the trick is obviously to sleect one that does not charge a Joiners Fee. A Good example would be the Expat Hotel in Patong, very close to Soi Bangla and with a nice pool.

Go to the Accomodation, Transportation section and look at the first thread there called "BM opinions to hotels/guesthouses" as there is lots of information in there about hotels where Board Members have already stayed, what the hotel is like, whether they had to pay a joiner fee or not etc.
