Crackdown on gogo bars and sex shows

Today interior ministry announced a 3 month crackdown on lewdness and striptease.

We will see how this will affect Phuket. I am not sure Phuket will be affected since we have strict policies already compared to Bangkok and Pattaya. (Only those gogo bars with shows and bikini/nudity should watch out.)

I remember the whole reason I went to Thailand for the first time was specifically to see the shows. That was Dec. '00, and ever since then it seemed like every time I came back there was a new crackdown.

Now I only go look for a show if I have a newbie with me and want them to experience everything Thailand has (or had) to offer. Hopefully these crackdowns will all blow over and it can get back to the way it used to be.

And when I say "used to be," I mean how it was when my friends were stationed there during the Vietnam War.

But I think that is just a bit of a longshot.

Only 3 years ago it was a big difference, nude shows and lesbian shows and ping pong and similar shows. I don't really like the latter that much since it's boring, but it was interesting first time.

Nudity and lesbian shows would be nice to have back, at the moment there is no big difference between the girls at the beer bars and gogo bar since since the gogo girls wear to much clothes these days.
(In Phuket, Bangkok and Pattaya is a different matter.)

I wouldnt say its as much where you go as 'when' you go. I have seen the ol' razor blades by luck of mtiming as i had been to the same gogo bar before numerous times with nothing more than the usual bored pole grinding.

i think the go go i have mentioned in previous posts still do shows ,flowers,razor blades ,ping pong ball ,darts and animals,but you have to be there at the right time .
amazing to see for the first time but once you have seen it a few times and know how its done it is a bit boring .

still i did enjoy the go go that nicke took me to ,some nice girls ,just for reasearch of course

What's up with this? The thai government only want family visitors who go to bed early and quietly leave after having left all their hard-earned money??
First increasing visa prices and now this... Maybe tourism isn't interesting for the thai government anymore??
