High Season vs. Low Season
Hi Guys,
I just got back from a 2 week romp in Phuket and already planning for my next venture for February 07'. What's the difference, if any, between the high and low season scene at the a-go-gos and bars?
LT/ST prices, BG supply, peer competition, etc.
Thanks in advance,
Nate-

Shouldn't be too much different in Feb than recently.......it will be mid to low when you are there next (in Feb) as after january peak + high season are just about done.............it picks up again for Songkran (April)

Lots more people during high season thats for sure. More girls yes but you dont realy notice it because there is also more customers.
I prefer high season in Phuket, and low season in Pattaya, mostly because of the weather but also because Pattaya is recieving shock loads of japanese tourists. They all go in groups aswell, size from 20-40 or so. Looks realy funny, like a big train of lemmings taking over whatever joint they enter

Im sure every topic has been beaten to death already. Pretty narrow subject matter: ******s and the beach.
Im sure new viewpoints or change of opinions may exist as well.

Perhaps a wee bit wider, but not that far off really…
Agree with the search thing, but looking up “low high season” does not yield that many relevant threads. AFAIK these comments are usually spread across many different threads.
Anyway, I actually like the high-season best. More places are open in Kamala and the beach is swimable. I also do a lot of driving on my motorbike, and just hate to do it when it’s raining. I don’t really mind the crowds in Patong either, except for Tiger. Right now I think it’s too quiet and not enough “energy” around.

there are two sides to that: in low season the airfare is usually cheaper and it's not so crowded so if you don't like crowds the low season is better. but during the high season you get to meet a lot of BM's. so i try to have a trip during low season and one during high season

Best of both worlds. I like it. Just like when Winnie the Pooh was asked whether he wanted honey or milk (or something) and answered: Both please!

He he. I reckon if he had two girls in sight he would say "both please" and go for a threesome?

Well we kinda like the low season...as for reasons mentioned...it is quieter, cooler, cheaper for accommodation and also seafood is a little cheaper in low season.
We don't go to the beach so it's ok that it rains a bit...don't mind the rain unless it goes on for days...but usually it's just downpours...although I hear it's been plenty wet over there lately...Floods in Bangkok.
What's Phuket like at the moment...would appreciate anyone living in Phuket let us know what the weather's doing at the moment...got a mate going there Tuesday with his daughter...they're going for the first time so I hope it doesn't teem on them the whole time...
But hey we booked their trip for them and got them really cheap airfares and accommodation at Yorkshire Inn...wish it was us

Weather update is hazy, not actually raining, humid and hot (sticky) for the last few days.. The raining all day every day thing ended the day my mum left Thailand !!
I wouldnt be surprised to see the humidity build up to a nice electrical storm soon.. Its got that high pressure electric feel. I like a good lightning bash in the tropics and it tends to clear the air for a day or two.

Its not that i dont mind paying a little bit more or anything like that but less crowded and more money to spend is always good..... Weather dont care.... It can rain all day long... I would still love it... in fact i remember one day it was raining all afternoon long in Phuket and when we went out it was actually nice to walk in the rain... it felt a little cooling.....

I love a good electrical with loads of big thunder cracks, the lightning suddenly brightly lighting up the darkened skies, and the sound of the rain on the roof. Brings back fond memories of the summer storms we would get in Pennsylvania. And is there anything more exciting than the ominous feeling in the air when it is the calm, before the storm, when the air is totally still but the sky is darkening, just before you see the far-off flash of lightning, when you can feel the excitement of the approaching storm and see the black clouds in the distance?
It's also great when you're with a girl who is scared of the thunder/lightning, and wants to curl up with you, hanging on to you to feel more safe, as you are serenaded by the rhythms of the falling rain. And there's nothing quite like hot sex when there is a good storm happening!!

I never thought i would be sold over to the merits of storms... But since you put it like this!

Na... It was JayBee's eloquent (and moving. ) post that prompted me to think of that.
But on the Guinness issue... Can't touch the stuff unfortunately... My Ass goes BAD (the ladies wouldn't be impressed)! Good for "Dutch Ovens" though!
