It seems the 500baht bar fine for just a "normal" BG has arrived too.
OK I've paid 400 and 500 before at a bar but that was because the girl was a cashier/dancer on a salary. This one the other night was just a normal BG in one of the Soi Tiger bars (and not one of the first ones in either). I asked her about the barfine as we walked away and she said the mamasan says the barfine is 500! |

My friend who speaks Thai claims he only ever pays 60 baht per lady drink AND when i was there i usually refused to buy a lady drink every hour instead id order 2 real drinks and give the girl one - my question is - if i buy her a lady drink does she recieve a commission from that ? according to my friend that is the case....

If you buy 2 "real" drinks , and give her one , then as far as the bar is concerned , she is not doing her job as there is no proof how many drinkers "she" has brought to the bar .

In at least one of the bars under Tiger, the arrangement is: barfine 300 baht, of which the girl gets half; lady drink 150 baht, of which the girl gets 80 baht. Since these prices are well in line with the norm, I'm more than happy to pay, especially when the girl gets a good piece of it. Let's face it, any girl who has had to put up with my company for an hour or so deserves something out of it, even if we never left the bar.
