Phuket bars mp3 soundtrack???
Does anyone know if any of the CD sales people have an mp3 CD that has all of the common songs that 80% of the bars in Phuket seem to play? Would be nice to have back home as a reminder, especially some of the Thai music that would be hard to get back home.....I'm in Samui right now so can't ask myself...and they actually play a bit more variety of music here!!!

Yes, but
Yes, but it's hard to download the songs when you don't know what they are. For example, I've still got some stupid Thai songs in my head rom a few years ago, but I couldn't begin to tell you what they're called.

To make a thai tour music cd complete, one must have the dance version of "If you going to San Francisco" on it....
It was practically the anthem of my last trip.

Here is what i remember to put on my cd:
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me -- Pussycat dolls
..and this one:
Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend -- The Killers
Ooops, maybe toooo darkside for ya..
Ok, here is a Patong/bangla quiz:
Name the place where u every(?) night can see a stunner pour a bottle of beer over herself in a sexy show while u hear "Hero" with Enrique Iglesias:
I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
.. just writing this down gives me a boner..

So, lesson for you. Next time go to the DJ and buy him a drink each time you ask him ;-) I've asked so many times that now I have a couple of CD's he recorded for me.

New member so be gentle.
Im over in three weeks time October 9th, and I have been trying to compile a list of classics that you hear in the bars so far I have:
Scorpions wind of change
Thin lizzie Boys are back in town
Cranberries zombie
Enrique Inglaisas hero
Foreigner I want to know what love is
White snake is this love
U2 In the name of love
If your going to san francisco (dance version)????
I can't wait to get there to recall the other classics. Any one who can add to the list, so I can start to ramp up my anticipation, it would be appriciated

If, like me, you hang out in Dragon a bit, and like the music there, you are bound to hear:
David Guetta - The world is mine
David Guetta- Just a little more love
Vinylshakerz - One night in Bangkok (Dance version of the old classic)
StoneBridge- Put 'em high [Featuring Therese]
These are just the ones I can remember off my head...

CD sales
I think I might put all these on to a double cd and put it out for general release.
Now thats what I call Farang
Volume 1 the butterfly collection.
Can you imagine explaining what the significance of such a cd is to the missus!

Anyone know the name of the Thai song that is sung by a female (mostly or totally) and the theme of it is that she wants to get a farang boyfriend. Can't describe it better than that, but it is very popular in the bars.....
There was also another very popular Thai song that quite often a lot of the bg's would get up and dance thai style too but wasn't able to cathc the name of it either....

It sounds like Bangla road is getting upto date,I'll miss being all dewy eyed, listerning to old 80's music. Black eyed peas and gwen steffani, does this mean I'll feel old when I get there?
Or are you still as you as the woman you feel??????
Is that little bar that belts out U2 and top rock tunes still open opposite soi eric?

The Shipwreck Bar , which is almost opposite Soi Eric/Soi Croc still plays excellent music , good "old fashioned" rock , great place to have a few beers and watch the antics on Bangla.
