why I hate Baya Beach
against my own good advice and not particularly mao I dropped into baya last week just to see if I still hated it...............
Still the same ugly farangs in there.....still the same lamo tgs hanging out at the bar praying on the punters buying a drink and still the same lame music....... Decided I'd stay for a drink as the quick look around isn't really fair when all you have seen is all the usual suspects and heard one half assed song........ Ordered a drink and one for the Gerard Depardieu look alike TG perched on a bar stool next to the service area......as she begged me and I thought whatthe cause no one else will buy the ugliest TG in the world a drink I'm sure....... handed over 1000bht for the 2 drinks and stood there waiting for an eternity for the change......waiting waiting waiting...........then had finished the drink so called over the bar gal and asked her for my change as the drink had only made the place seem even worse than I remembered........she said solly and went to the check out chick at the back to speak to her and came back with 200bht........... Still cool I pointed out that I had given her 1000bht and only bought 2 drinks......so she goes back to the cc and then tries to ignore me as long as possible..........next minute i turn around and the bill wallet had been taken off the bar so i assumed it was about to be sorted........... waited for another eternity before calling over the falang manager who I always avoided as much as possible as everytime I lok at him my eyes slide off.......he is just so oily..........I point out what has happenned to him and he goes to talk to both bt and and cc........after much toing and froing he comes back over and says that I only gave 500bht and that I had left the change on the bar as a tip......... Now I don't lose my cool much in LOS but I just let rip at this guy and told him what a dump he ran and that they are basicaly thieves working for him......and that if he really cared he would give me my money back...... he just turned his back on me and walked away thai style..........what a wanker............ A pox on the dump..........he really did me a favour........I'll never be back........not ever!!!!! Gee I suddenly feel better now!!!!! I know some of you BMs like it.........why?????

it's a fkn sh1thole i agree. i want to burn the place down everytime i go in preferably with the sunglass at night wearing, tight t-shirt, oily cnuts still inside.

Personally i don't really like the place either, its a bit small, and last time i was there it was too crowded. Seemed like an ok place though, although i never ordered a drink when i was there as i didn't want to stand shoulder to shoulder with someone i didn't know. What the manager did wasn't very nice.... He's in hospitality for a reason... Its his job to be hospitable, if he's not, he should find a new profession.
Although looking at it from a different view, maybe he thought you were a cheap falang trying to pull a fast one on him.

If I throw the likes of Tiger, Tai Pan, Baya, VIP etc in one pool I would likely prefer Baya....
It is the only place which plays half decent music and keeps musid styles a bit more apart. In IE Tai Pan you can go from R&B to house and Hip Hop within 2 minutes, which is not to my liking. In Baya they play more sets of styles. Baya tends to get a little different public from 'the others'. It has a bit more of a club feel when compared with IE Tai Pan. Different style attracts different clientele. How small the differences may be. It is good that there is actually a difference between different venues, at least it is not all of the same... As for the manager. I do fully agree that that is a wrong way to deal with a problem. Most im[portant is to have everybody walking out happy.... My critisism with Baya is with the drinks. They pour so called floaters, first the softs and on top the alcohol. Your first sip is very strong and gradually you end up drinking soft drink with a splash of alcohol. My favourite club though, because of interior, music and drinks, is La Baia. This place deserves a larger following. I know, location is a bit of but it desrves a better following. Prices have been adjusted and it is more affordable now.

La Baia is really nice, always empty though... I'm guessing its due to the hotel always being empty as well. Drink prices here are similar to drink prices in bkk or at least it used to be unless they've changed they're pricing. The one thing i don't like in La baia is the service. Bartender is a REAL idiot... And they have things on their menu that they don't even carry... Really did my head in. But once you get your drink the way you want it, i must say its a nice place to take someone to for simple, relaxing conversation. Wouldn't go there to party though, unless it eventually draws a crowd.

Ive never been ripped there. I do enjoy the music, but its just so small and sooooo cramped. Standing shoulder to shoulder sweating like pigs is not comfortable. I do like the talent in there though. Sorry it went so poorly for you in there N1.

Another thing i did learn here : Never show that you have lot of cash and asking exchange... will try to get 100 baths billets only instead of 1000 thx for the advice!!
For a 500 baths tip i would ask for a *******! How can you stay calm with this? Can the police do something in this case?

i myself also dislike baya,,and as previous thread i also waited a long time on my change,this was when it was quiet!
still cant believe the mentality of some bar owners,but then again seems to be full of the same people drinking the same beer all night! ps,,make sure you dont take your cat inside!! !!!

i actually like baya beach
i think the girls are much hotter in there than any other disco in patong i think the music is pretty good, and he does play more current music than most places it is a little too small there are some jerk-offs in there but only had a small problem once i do agree the french owner is an asshole i even knew his french friend who lived at wet willy's and the kid was the biggest fake i ever met i like to go to all the different discos, just for a different scene

Death trap waiting to happen
Apart from being too small it gets too crowded.If anything like a fire happens in there you are dead.There are no rear fire exits and the two ways in/out are too narrow for speedy evacuation.
