captian kirks
hey everyone, im new to this forum. well i just got back from phuket on friday the 19th spent 8 days there, and it was the best 8 days of my life and wat made it so good was spending my nite time at captian kirks bar, which is located on bangla road, just before the aussie bar. the bar manager there (forgot hes name but ill remember it next time) was from england and we became really good freinds. i went there with a mate of mine and hes gf and her freind and they always went home early and i didnt want to so the owner always took me out after captian kirks closed (at 230) and we headed up to the nite clubs at the end of bangla road and then we would go to the safari and get home at 10 in the morning, great times. i just wanna ask ahs anyone been to captions kirks? or if u are heading to bangla road go to captians kirks bar cose ull ahve a blast... peace out

well captian kirks opens at 9 in the nite and it starts getting busy at 11, i stayed there till it closed which was 230 then would head up bangla road, the oppasite way to the beach to this nite club, forgot the name ill have to find out, and that closes at 430, then i went up to the safari, which is located up a mountain goin towards karon beach (which is the next main touro destination) and that closes at 10 in the morning, but i didnt make it to then, i met this dude called andy, and he gave a lift home on hes moto, stupid of me, we ended up having a crash, but meh, so yea, wen i find out more info ill let u know, chek

I think I'm right in saying that a few years back the afore-mentioned Captain Kirks was one of The Places to go in Patong.
For reasons better know to others it has suffered quite a dramatic decline in popularity however, judging by griffo69's posts on his recently established thread, it still has plenty going for it

Made first visit to Phuket couple of months ago although 4th visit to LOS. Previously had spent time in BKK, Pattaya and Koh Samui. Only spent a week in Phuket but plan to spend longer on next trip. Brought a girl with me from Pattaya this time and dont plan on doing that again either, she was great but think I missed out on some things. Think I made it to most of the bars and discos around Bangla mentioned on this board but what is the story with this safari place that is open until 10 am. Any info appreciated

I used to go there a lot, but as has been stated many times all the best girls left. It used to be THE best/nastiest place to drink circa 2001/3. Dragon just diverts you tho.

yeah i didnt really venture out to any of the over pubs, only went to the aussie bar, which is like right next to captain kirks, so i would go to the aussie bar then at 9 i would go to captain kirks. the only reason i stayed there is because the bar owner was the nicest guy i met on my trip and looking back now he made my trip, just by he's freindly hospitality and he's love of shouting me drinks all the time without me expecting him to and im going to go there next yr only to go back to captain kirks and drink with him
