Forum jargon - WTF??
At the risk of sounding like a grommet, I'm hoping someof the old dogs of the forum can help me out with some of the abbreviations I have seen used.
Los - Land of smiles (Thailand)??
TGF - Thai girlfriend??
555555 - ?
MTB - Mai Thai Bar??
BG - Bargirl??
LT/ST - Long time / short time??
FL - ??
Suai Mak mak - ??
Also, I'm going to Chiang Mai in April next year and am very keen on spending some time somewhere else in Thailand from about 10th to 15th. Is Phuket worth it, how much should I expect to pay for a reasonable hotel, are there hotels that have little chalets / bungalows on the beach?
How much for a "BG" for "LT/ST"?
Can you rent scooters?
Any info is apreciated.

Do us all a favour and read the newbies section before posting mate.........
there is a sticky post at the top of that section which will explain the abbreviated codes used on the board.....
and please don't ask questions about drugs in here.........it has been asked and answered many times......and is highly ilegal in LOS and could lead to a long stay in a thai prison......oh and please use the search function before asking every obvious question that every newbie asks

Suay Mak Mak = Very very beautiful
As Nelson said...Search the forum for the answers to these common newbie questions.
You're about 10 years too late for bungalows on the beach in Phuket...
Some can be found on Koh Yeo Noi in Pang Nga Bay...and other islands
But again search...I found this yesterday by searching the web as we are interested in a couple of nights on one of these laid-back Islands

Yes, 555555=hahahaha. Bit of an insider joke. Thai word for 5 is ha, at least to the ear of an English speaker. Took a while to get that one even though I used to be pretty good at my Thai numbers.

See Abbreviations in the newbies section. Welcome to the board. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!! Oh yeah and thailand has a no tolerance policy on drugs, but like every country you can find it if you look hard enough, sometimes it finds you. But be warned, i suggest you enjoy your holiday and smoke your grass when you go back home.

Yes there are bungalows on the beach on Phuket but they are on the quieter beaches such as Mai Khao etc, you may want to rent one for a few days if you want a quiet romantic time with gf but the disadvantage is they are 30 minutes away from the better nightlife area's such as Patong. You can get rooms on the beach at Patong but not the little thatch roofed bungy you maybe thinking of. Rooms on the beach in April will cost 1500 to 2000 per night, consider hotels such as Patong Villa, just over the road from the beach, really near main nightlife area's, cost about 1000 to 1400 or go in land one block look at Summer Breeze, Yorkshire, C&N etc, rooms 700 to 1400bht.
Use the search button at top right of screen and look at gf hotels and then when finished reading look at bottom left of screen you will see other linked threads.
