Hi
Its around 80 - 120baht for Heineken/Singha/Chang/Tiger in most beer bars for a 330cl bottle. I don't recall seeing the small bottles on sale anywhere.

I love to sit at the 50 baht bar next to the travel agent and watch the manageress there, now that is a hot woman ! Always I seem to fancy the most unavailable women, if you go there check out the rock on her left hand and you`ll see why she`s a non starter.

Last time I was in Banana about a month ago, it was virtually FL free. Really only big scarry farang chicks. Good though as it finally help me kick the habit of dropping by there. No reason to be there for at least 2 years now.

On Bangla road?????
I know this is useless info, but...I miss "Cheap Charlies". (I think it is now Blue Lotus) They (Cheap Charlies), used to sell Singha for 59baht. On the menu it said..."pay 1 baht less (59 vs 60 baht). The more you drink, the more you save!"5555
Had a nice "mid Bangla" location, for people watching. 5555
An earlier post, "jim robb", mentions a 50 baht bar, next to a travel agent???
Where is this????

There is a beauty salon inside, you go through it to use the (very clean!) loo. Expat locals call it the 50 Baht Bar due to the sign saying all beers are 50 Baht. Not sure if it has a proper name. It's under the pink boxing stadium ("tonight, tonight ...") and next to the 1112 pizza hut style place. Good bar for watching the world go by.

Not a slam but just a question. Don't you feel a bit strange drinking at the 50 baht beer place? Just seems like the cheap seats for the Bangla show and not really where the action is. It's always packed I know, but just seems odd to me.

We (me, mates and expats I know) treat it as a 6pm meeting place. The expats love it because it's cheap. Somewhere where we can have a few pre-dinner drinks. And you can watch the world go by on Bangla Road - everyone seems to get dropped off at the Rat-U-Thit end. Your right - there is no action in the bar itself and they sometimes struggle with more exotic drinks, but a beer for 50 baht is OK.
We are usually in a restaurant by 8pm and I'm in Sharkys by 10pm! I'm a creature of habit. Daytime bars are usually the Aussie Bar (for sport) or the Shipwreck. There are others ...

Thanks. That makes sense. Still can't figure out why people are there say after 10pm or 11pm. Unless they just want to watch. The place is busy. Wouldn't be surprised if they brought in stacked bleachers to watch the freak show roll by.

I use the place opposite for the same reason, but the drinks at normal prices. I go there early, talk to the girls I know, and watch the (strange) world go by. Before heading to the usual places! It serves Beer Lao too, and when I drink it, I say to the bg's that I only will buy them that. So its cheap(ish) too!

So true, Paulie.
Who needs the "Bangla Boxing" stadium (50 baht place), when you have Walking Street in Patt's. 5555
One late afternoon, I'm sitting in such a place...watching the WS "show".
Some drunken expat (older guy), wandering WS, with shirt open and carrying a beer...generally bothering everyone. He comes to the bar, I'm sitting at, and gets into some of the girls faces! Just talking sh1t, you know???
They are screaming, and pointing for him to leave. He reluctantly steps back and wanders about 20 meters further up WS. Then he returns (about 2 minutes), and continues his assault on the BG's.
At this, a youngish (rather stalky) farang customer, gets up...picks up a barstool, and busts the drunken guy, in the side, with the stool! The older guy drops to the sidewalk, where the stalky bloke proceeds to beat him severely about the head and face. Then, in one move...he picks the guy up, by the shorts and shirt collar...and "tosses" him into the back of a Coca Cola truck, parked on the street!
Bloodied and dazed, the old drunk gathers himself (after acouple of minutes), and leaves the vicinity.
It was almost like "Virtual Fighting".55555

Sounds like a long-lost member of the Dragon Clan! His Dragon skill (TM) must be quite high to pull off moves like these!
Maybe i'll try to do the same in Patong the next time im over!
