1st timer...Phuket/BK/Chiang Mai/ need help!!!
I will be in BK for a day or 2 and would like to go to Chiang Mai and then on to Phuket...I would like to know some nice Hotels...girl friendly of course and which area to stay in, I dont mind $100us a night...and how long should I stay in each place. I have 2 weeks total. Is a week in Phuket too long of a stay??? 2- 3 days in BK and Chiang Mai???
In Phuket is it better to stay in a hotel or bunaglow? Name a few... Girl friendly and near the beach would be great.
I see alot of Info but it get a bit confusing sometimes!!
Thanks everyone...cant wait to get there!!!

For hotels in phuket see : http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...esthouses.html
One week in Phuket is good. 2 - 3 days in bkk is def enough. For bkk i'd recommend the Chateau De bangkok, nice rooms and of course girl friendly.
Then you can spend the rest of the time in Chiang mai and Phuket. Can't really say anything about CM as i've only been there once myself.

I gave you the link for Phuket... Depending on what you want to do. In Phuket most of the action is in Patong. For bkk the hotel i recommended is in a good location, its on Soi Ruamrudee about a 8min walk to Ploenchit station. Patpong is at Silom station/ nana is at nana station and soi cowboy is at asoke station (sky train stations). Patpong about 15mins, Soi Cowboy about 10mins and Nana plaza about 10mins away all without high traffic of course. Otherwise take the sky train and its all very close.

I thought it was odd, the sign said "Soi Cowboy" there was bars there but
it was all closed up, I really did get the feeling I was looking at the wrong Soi cowboy.. maybe theres 2 of them??.....we got a taxi to the patpong area...the bars were all open.
I was really surprised how much cheaper it is for Tuk tuks in Bangkok/Chiang mai...compared to Patong. I'll never tip a Patong tuk tuk again, 100b is already way too much for a 5 minute ride . in Chiang Mai you go 20km for 100b, ( I got a 1 hour massage for 60b on special )
My heart is in expensive Patong.. dammit.

Bangkok Hotel:
There is a very nice hotel located Sukhumvit Soi 22, called Grand Mercure Park Avenue, boutique type establishment, but very nicely appointed rooms, smallish, but very good value for money, it's a bit out of the action, 5 mins to Nana by Taxi, essentially across the road from Soi Cowboy and stone throw away from Sukhumvit Soi 33. Room rates go for around 80US, very friendly staff, the cleaning ladies there are just lovely. Ohh yeah it's GF too!

if you want to be inthe heart of things in Bkk then the Nana or Majestic Suites are good - in Patong I stayed at the Salatai, about AU$80 a night but very girl friendly, good pool and nice rooms - onlt about 2 mins walk from beach and 10 mins from Bangala.
