Tiger 2 On Rat-U-Thit Rd
Just thought i'll post a few photos from the tiger 2 places i took afew days ago.
While all the bars in the main tiger are smoothing out the bar edges. tiger 2 have it looks like keeping it sharp and dangerous. The branch trees what ever they are are even bigger then tiger 1, just waste space and stops air flow. Looks like the bottom floor is bars and second floor is the restaurant and pool hall with floor 3 & 4 rooms for rent but im sure only short time. Baz

Tigers current head lease runs out next year..
Tigers current leaseholder is building Tiger 2.. Rumours of redeveloping the land have been surfacing.. [pure wild speculation] Kinda shows he isnt saving up to renew the lease again ?? He would need a LOT of money for another 5 or 10 years.. Doing a new soi at the same time as raising perhaps a mil USD or so seems unlikely.. Seems to hint that he isnt even trying to renew and looking to cut and run. Current bar leaseholders have only a contract with the person sub leasing it.. Once head lease expires those would not have any enforcement options. [/pure wild speculation]

Would suck if he had to compete with his own "old" disco when starting up the new one, i mean Tiger 1 have a GREAT location. Gonna be interesting to see how this goes.

I heard this rumour long time ago, but I do know lot of bars expires next year in Tiger, but also some bars like Geir's bar just recently renewed it for another 3 years.
According to Geir they have a lease to cover for his lease. It will however be lot of changes in Tiger next year when a lot of leases expires.

Any time scale for Tiger 2 being finished/open.? Just wondering as it sounds like its right outside my bedroom window (K&N)

Dawsey the bulk of the construction is complete - now they are fitting out the place - would say about a month away for bar area - the hotel upstairs looks like fair bit more fit out work needed - maybe Songkran time or shortly before.

I'll be there begin Feb as well. I'm arriving 27/1 in Bangkok, gonna travel a couple of days to Pattaya, then to Samui to go to the FMP on 3/2 and after that I'm flying to Patong for 4/5 days or so. Oooh I'm gonna have myself so much fun
 Will be fun to meet my girls again

When i took the photos, the Hotel rooms looked almost ready, doors on, walls finished and just finishing the floor tiling when i was there. I would say the whole lot complete by end jan the latest. Baz

Has anyone heard of who is going to move in there? Will some of the Tiger 1 bars owners move over or willit be a whole new set of bars??
