How much money do you spend?
Hello everybody!
How much money do you normally spend in one day in Patong?
For me it's not possible to spend less than 5000 baht in one day.
In one month I spent 250.000 baht , how is that possible.

How Much Do I Spend???
Hi there
I am returning to Thailand in April for my 7th trip. (5th to Phuket)
Last April/May I was in Phuket for 15 days, after a couple of days in Bangkok.
All up, I spent about 50,000 Baht for around 17 days (including accommodation) but of course excluding airfares . . . Thats only around 3,000 Baht per day!
I certainly don't feel I went without anything, paying 600 Baht at C & N Hotel per night, eating well and NEVER EVER paying more than 800 Baht for a lady for the night.
I find it quite amusing to read some (no doubt, well intentioned) posts advising that you should never pay more than 1500 - 2000 Baht for a lady for the night! I would expect two ladies together (and have had them) for that price.
I would spend maybe 1,200 Baht per day on alcohol and 300-500 Baht a day on food. If you add all these figures up, they still only total about 3,000 Baht.
Cheers
Pdm3

Expenditure
I estimate that I would spend around 3000 baht a day, if I check my bill at the bar. Otherwise it has been known to mysteriously blow out to 4000 baht.
This includes drinks, LT girl. Mind you I don't buy drinks willy nilly for girls, I have to be actually enjoying their company, not just because they rub my stool pigeon and tell me I'm handsome, they do that for me in Australia - NOT.
I wouldn't say I drink excessively, just a steady pace on the beer. It's the same no matter which country you go to ; Beer, women are the greatest expense. But what joy they bring - worth every cent.

u got me worried about spending 250000 baht in a month,i am allowing 3000 uk pounds for my 4-5 weeks in april/,may.i am a heavy spender.i usually spend about 5-7000 a day i spend about 1000 on food,1000 on a lady,1000 miscellaneous like down beach shops etc and about 3-4000 on the booze.i go on serious benders a few times as nicke will vouch for.which results in the followeing day being quite cheap.but i also am pretty generous to the girls with drinks.i allocate my hotel money seperately,i stay at c and n they always willing to do a deal.

Three grand thats a good effort, ipersonally didnt spend that much this time but when i done my 4 month tour of duty back in 2002 we had a friend come out to visit us who managed to some how do 1500 gbp in 10 days! i thought he was pretty heroic i never saw him without a beer in his hand, and on songcran(excuse the spelling if its wrong)he actually sustained the most severe sunburn ive ever seen with blisters bubbling up on his forehead, and he still ward on till three in the morning, this dude is a true jedi.
May the force be with you!

Daily Expenses in Patong
I found that my expenses in Patong increased as the holiday went on. During the first couple of days it seemed that I did not spend much and then towards the end it sky rocketed as I became less immune to the persistent requests for "lady drink". What the heck, its only £2 for a beautiful girl to smile at you and hold your pecker and tell you you are handsome in spite of the obvious truth (in my case).
The mistake I made was to stay at the Andaman Beach Club. The room was about THB 4000 per night for a balcony room and the joiners fee ("Companion Charge") was THB 2000 and not negotiable. Good quality hotel though. Once you added the cost of the girl, beer and food I was up to about THB 11,000 easy. Taking out the hotel it was around THB 5000 (£80) per day, but cheaper in the beginning. But quite frankly spending £1,000 in Patong is much more fun than spending £1,000 in Devon.
There are some attractions in Patong, apart from the BG's. Diving is around THB 2000 per person, the ubiquitos "Trip to Phi Phi Island" (with BG in tow)about THB 2000 and of course the fantasea which was about, guess what, THB 2000 once you had bought a European prices drink with your meal.
Reading this board and taking advice will save you me a lot of money next time. My guess is you a high roller indeed Supermao.

Too many baht
I got to agree with most here who spend in the region of 5000 baht a day , its easily done , patong is more expensive than pattaya (which is well documented on the net) so you gotta expect to shell out some baht when you get there. 5000 baht average sounds about right for me too , sometimes i spend less but of course sometimes more, the main thing is that you have a great time no matter what you budget for , personally i take Steves theory , blow my load/stack ..hehe then worry when i get back home

Last time I spent 130.000 baht for 3 weeks but I met a girl and made a grand tour in Thailand together with her (so the 130.000 includes flights and hotel acc.). I'm not a butterfly kind of type, maybe I better would be a butterfly, but just to found of one particular girl I allready visited 3 times.
I agree about the above the more expensive and chique the hotel, the more expensive the joiner fee. The first time i was in Phuket i had a room in diamond cliff, I booked it over here in Belgium and did not know jack shit about Phuket, so when I showed up at the reception with a girl they even did not allow her to get in. Shit happens...

How much to spend a day
I spend about 2500 bath a day.
- for Hotelroom 500 bath (in Nanai Road, very clean, air).
- for Motorbike (Honda Wave) 120 bath
- about 300 bath for food and beach
- between 500 and 1000 bath for bg or freelancer
- Rest for drink.
Stay longer then one day with a girl the most do it for 500.
2 month to go

I spend about 1500/day on average with living and food included, sometimes more when I travel around or buy something. Drinking in the bar is at the bar's expenses

After a few days in Phuket, I stopped calculating what I spent: When my cash dried out, I went to the ATM. I realized that whatever I spent was way, way less than I would have to spent in Europe for the same thing (of course, it's not available at any prize...).
Excluding hotel, my guess is:
2000-8000 a day. 4000 average?

Beped2 Has a Point
After a while it does'nt matter because if you try and budget too much you loose out and the free and easy access of a holiday paradise like Patong.
The way I see it its alwasy too much but not enough - Maybe thats why we keep coming back...

I always bring around 100000 baht whether I am staying for 5 days or 10 days which is the maximum number of days I can stay before I have to go back again (work!). How much I spend per day I wouldn't know. The excess that I could not spend (which is always), I just bring back with me cos I know I will be going back again very soon I just top up again before my next trip!
I learnt from my previous trips that if I try to limit my spending to a fixed budget, I will not enjoy my holidays.
