Newbies!

Hooked up with some friends that were taken some first timers around last night. The energy and excitement was outstanding. I always enjoy whipping around with people that are here for the first time. You can just see their brain going on overload with joy.

i love showing a newbie around
theres a bm-Jimbulljag
he pm'ed about possibly meeting for a drink in BKK, never had met before
he was from the States and figured it was the least i could do
he met me in the lobby of JW Marriott
what a great night we had, which ended up on Sukhumvit, eating noodles in all that madness, he had a blast
we now try to schedule oou trips together and get together anytime we can in the States

For sure i agree guys. Especially when travelling on your own, meeting up with BM's you may know from the board or just meeting someone for the first time at MTB, and ending up on some impromtu bar crawl can be a real highlight.

This trip im travelling with 2 mates from my hometown, 1 vetran and 1 newbie. Just cant wait to see the expression on his face when we show him around. Thats if we can separate him from his thai/australian girlfriend....

I absolutely love taking n00bs out and about. You get back some of that buzz you got the first time you saw the place. Seeing them adjust to it in their own time is great too.

Sometimes you can know people a long time but it is hard to guage their reaction to LOS sometimes. Always surprising.

Funny story, there was this guy - a total noob here on his own, came for a short term work contract and had been here a few days but never to Patong. Come with us I say - we will show you around...

Cruising into to Patong in the back of a pick-up (great way to travel by the way) I asked him if he liked asian women?

"No, not really - they do nothing for me" he said.

"I give you 2 hours before you tell me they are amazing" I replied.

Sure enough, a couple of Soi's and an a-gogo trip later....

i'll never forget the look of a certain BM here when we met up and he went to a bj bar for the first time in bkk!

of course he now addicted.

Yeah newbies........

When you out on the piss with a couple of newbies it is great as it is all new for them and some of this does rub off on you! Its like a big shot of los 101 being injected right in to you.

But what i like playing if im there by myself at a bar, is spot the newbie. When you see someone walk towards you all have to guess "newbie or oldie". You get extra point if the person is a Newwbie, or first night in los as oppsed to first trip. (Its like the Will Self game, "Child, Dwarf or midget!". where you have to guess from behind if the person is a child, a dwarf or a midget. Height and facal features are the difference between the 'maller catagories)

I use a combination of body language, how large and bright there eyes are and what T-shirt they are wearing. Ohh the fun I have playing this......
