Mob mentality fight in Tiger last night

Last night at Jaggerbar in Tiger there was a asian man, that got ganged up on and a real mob mentality fight took place.
This takes place just beside Love Bar in the aisle.

Story was supposedly that he didnt want to pay for the drinks to the ladies he enjoyed company with and that lead to a group of the ladies in the bar to shout at him, demanding that he'd pay the bill.

At one point, one of the Tiger Entertainment owner's "henchmen" comes up to him and starts kicking the guy. The guy is fairly big for an asian, so he didnt budge, and started to give back, at that point all the male thai staff in the surrounding bars, piled in on him, got him on the ground, and started kicking him, but he was agile, so somehow he got up on his feet again, and started to give it back. A big commotion happened and the party drew out into the open area and out in the road. From the best of my ability, the guy was giving it good to the mob, a good fighter, cuz some of the staff came back with bruises, torn shirts and stuff. Whatever happened to the guy, I have no idea about.

Just wanted to share it...Pay the full tab if youre buying them ladydrinks

While I agree with everything you have written..

When it comes to the pay the full bill thing it could well have been a sticth up bill.

He must have been pretty handy cos usually they tend to get them grounded and lay the boot in..

What I have started to do more and more now, at bars I don't normally go to, is to check the bills in the bin every so often and make sure that the staff at the bar see's me doing it! If there is a bill in there that isn't mine I bring it up immedatily. This normally results in an apology, if it doesn't I pay and go. Then never go back to bar.

This happened to me a few weeks back, where a bill for red wine suddenly appeared. No one at the bar was drinking it. When I queried it, I was told that I ordered it. So I paid and left. But I see the girl from the bar all the time, probably a 8 or 9, and she always asks why I never go back to her bar. When I say why, she tells me they are expected to do it by the owner????????????? Now thats what I call customer service!!!!!!

Your very right and is a must do. If I am new to a bar, I make sure they see me checking the price and drinks on the first bin. Generally I won't run a bin unless I'm known at the place. I prefer bars that use the computer system to keep a running tab. Worst thing is trying to sort out a bin mess after you've had a few. There are a lot of super bar owners and a lot of really shady ones.

Which I guess would make it a good mark, when they tab your bill and take their cut... Good tips Sishow, I always just tab mine up at the end of the evening to make sure the total is correct. But, I usually water down at places I go to frequently. If I'm in a new bar, I'm going to start checking the slips now...

I run bins and do as you both describe to show I am a 'bin checker' However I am very relaxed in a few bars to the point I dont even care if the odd mistake is made..

I have had some nights in for example Love Bar.. I trust them so much I dont care.. What they say at end of night is fair.. I have had nights where the bill has come and I thought 'ouch.. I am not that drunk yet' (usually with spinner.. She has a tendancy to start shouting all staff once shes had a few) but I also have nights where I have shouted rounds of shots.. Drunk enormous amounts and the bill has come back at a few hundred baht.. Now in both cases there may have been some minor 'slippage'.. And either way I know its not the intent of anyone to rip me there and I would rather buy the staff the difference in lack of hassle than fight it..

Tho of course thats in a place I feel welcome and well looked after..

I have also been in 'not yet mullered enough' mode when they were locking up and just bullied a bottle of something and some mixers out of them and stood there with whatever BM I was deep in unremembered but vital world fixing conversation with.. Never have they argued..

Its one of the things you like about the more relaxed bars here versus something back in the orderly structured west. Yes maybe theres some slippage here and there but theres also some leeway.

Thats the exact place where that girl I was talking about in the other thread got a severe beating by a mob of girls, And on the opposite side of that bar another night I seen another brutal punch up between two Farangs guys who kicked lumps out of one another, Ended up the security guy got a kick and punch into the face which he was not pleased about and laid into the two of them while they were still fighting each other...55555..

Seriously though for some reason it does get messy down that end...

It would be a total Pain in the Proverbial to do as we all (I am guessing) have to do in our own respective countries and per per round or individual drink!

That cheeky, cheerful chappie Chek at MTB sneaks a drink in from me when I am buying one or two of the laies a drink, at least he is open about it and comes and tells me.............Like most have said, I don't mind the odd drink over the top but some bars do kick the proverbial ar5e out of it. I think Lils last paragraph sums it up quite nicely.

Yes the odd mistake happens as we are all human. The wrong bill goes into a bin, or a drink is chrarged to the wrong bill slip. OK. it is a mistake. As long as its sorted out when its brought up, then fine im ok with it. Or if its a bar that i like and well known in, I will probably let it ride.

But when its a drink not even ordered or being drunk, or there is no explanation for the 'mistake'. Thats when it gets on my nerves! As **** has told me before, when the cashier makes too many for it to really be a real mistake, then its very bad for business. The staff member has to go!

But then, its better to over pay and walk away, then spend 100 000b on medical care.

Like the system with the computer adding what you drink on the same paper.
A few years ago in Manilla (gogo) bars they showed you the note for what you ordered and you had to sign the paper. When you wanted to pay the bill all papers were signed by you and you couldn't say that you didn't order that drink. I found it to be a good system that cost the bar nothing (computer) extra.

The local pub i frequent is doing the same thing Captain mentioned.

The waitress will give you the bill with your order and you sign and when you pay, you can double check.

One thing bad, after too many beers, you wont even know what you're signing for.

Being a regular, i trust the owner and the head waitress not to over charge me.

Same same, the bars i am a regular inn i normally trust the staff,if i dont have that feeling i,m not a regular anymore, and if its some items added extra i dont have any problem with that,i dont count my drinks, afther al they stress around and give some good service,so some hickups you have to overlook in a friendly way.

But if they do it with purpose al the time its a diffrent case.
On of the bars in Bangla did that to me many times and now i prefer some other place to use my money, thats fair enough for me

Also seen some drunk clientele making noise afther getting the bill
"Nicke" you now what i think about, and that is bull.... from the customer.
Sitting al night drinking and now exactly how many vodkas and beers
to pay for,and forget the drinks on the staff he told them to take.
That is petty and i dont like it

I was thinking...

What would people think if a beer bar didnt have tabs and you just paid after every order? The way I do back home or at discos/bigger clubs in Thailand.

If you do that with a cash register, you could avoid most problems.

I know there are pro/cons with both methods.

I personally like the bin.

You would probably have the arguing from every drink bill payd, instead of
having it in the end,and it would be a chaos for the staff, and the personal sevice level would slow down

I would hate it.. In fact it would annoy me enough to consider not drinking there.

Bins are fine.. Computerised slips even better..

The issues that seem to come up are are bad staff (bill padding).. Overloading bell rings (like adding LD prices on a bell ring instead of flat rate shooter prices).. And idiots who drink all night then splutter when handed a 2 or 3k bar bill.

2 of these things can be sorted from the bar side.. The others are thier own fault and screw em...

I feel most comfortable running at tab when it is done on a single reciept via a computer cash register.

Order drink. bin goes away. drink comes with updated bin. Easy to check on each round if your feeling paranoid. Updated totals. The cup can't get stuffed with extra bins. Don't have to worry about bar staff doing the math correctly. Lot's of pros.

As a bar owner there are also plenty of pros. The guys I know running those systems love it. Much more info and control.

Kinda strange dragon doesn't have this system.

are we long lost brothers?
you wrote my exact nights in Love Bar everytime i go
my bill is always pushing 5k, always
but it is usually a party atmosphere and i buy M and the other guy alot of drinks because i think they are the best bar staff in bangla, IMHO
and my gf is notorious for buying drinks for people
she'll even buy drinks for my friends "i buy drink for friend you"
of course with my baht

I'm sure this poor guy was set-up. Maybe took it to a painful conclustion.....Have to say the Lady Drink B.S. can get out of control if you are not in full control of your faculties. I’m sure the “Asian nationality” probably signaled an easy mark for the staff and the drinks started flowing. Whenever, I see this attempt to extort Lady Drink it’s a good time to leave that bar….hardly worth the aggravation. Obviously this guy’s bill was for more then a couple of lady drinks if he put himself into such a lose lose situation. A lesson learned
