Hey Sledge,
You are right the work over in Phuket is imo fantastic.
My wifes tatt is great and although the guy I used was a little heavy handed resulting in a bit longer to heal and itchiness still now after 2 weeks I would always get the tatts there. Cheaper more professional and I think the colours are better not worse as some have said.
I guess it always depends were you go.
The Tattoist my wife went to and imo is absolutley fantastic is as follows.
Anocha Tattoo Art Gallery
Soi Kings Fashion. Thaweewong Rd
His name is Chan ( bloody brilliant)
By the way. The guy that did mine was brilliant too but I don't have his card to pass on details just the description of how to find him as above post.
Very happy with the results of what he did and free hand also. Would highly reccomend to anyone.

I just had one done in Pattaya, just a small script (3 thai characters) about 8cm long x 5cm high. 45mins work, 850baht, good clean job, no colour bleeding.
Young guy in Soi Diana in Pattaya, I'll go back and get some more done in a few months for sure. 850baht is a bargain.

I got a new bit of ink at Zenith Tattoo just up from Patong Seafood in Soi Patong Inn. Very clean very good ink work. about $130 AUD. They do traditional bamboo as well if you have time.

Heading to patong in the following 2 and a half weeks and considering getting some ink done on my last day of my trip and going by this thread the guy at 666 in OTOP markets seems to be the go..
Unless anyone has any other opinions?

A few threads can be found using the search button. This one gives a few more ideas of decent places to get your work done

I once had a BM who made a nice tattoo, but he didnt take care of it, so almost all his colors disappeared and had to re-done it. So I guess you should listen to the advices they give you.

tinai tit tua : Where on your body ?
meuarai means "when" but i think u know it.
How do u write in thai the word "Kutcher"? i generally use the word roisak รอยสัก .

maybe better use kap ( กับ) instead of duay (ด้วย) but this time i need some advise too...maybe both writings are correct.

I was very surprised that this sweet newbie to the bar scene wanted a tattoo of a scorpion in a very visible location. You just never know about people, especially BGs! Needless to say, I didn't buy it for her. Maybe the next guy will?
|
i am not so surprised.
when a new girl arrive in the scene it is one of the first things she does ,this with buying a new phone that goes without saying.

Nope, must have just missed the move, but the new shop is definately very nice. Hes obviously making a name for himself as whenever i visited, he always had a few people wandering around organizing their appointment. Met Dana for the first time, Id heard so much about her but never run into her before..
Sorry cant help ya mate.

pictures way to dark too.
I've been coming to phuket for a few years now and am surprised at the amount of shops that have opened over the years. I only remember a handful from the begining now it seems theres more tatto shops than there is restaurants.
It makes me VERY dubious as you've got to ask with all the new shops where have the artists come from and where have they been working previously?

I had one of my Thai mates give me a tattoo a few years back. He is sh1t hot with the needle or bamboo - all by free hand. Can do the authentic Thai tattoos and has recently been doing alot of Japanese themed ones for some of my mates from the UK.
I was nearly 6 hours under the bamboo and it cost me 800 baht.
