Tri Trang Beach Party 12th April
After playing on Bangla yesterday we decided to head for the beach party at Tri Trang, early evening. When we arrived it was empty but more and more arrived and shortly later it was an OK crowd. Still pretty early.
I think it is a pretty nice and decent event, relaxing and both DJs and live bands performing.
Around 22:00 or something it started raining and got windy so we felt cold and decided to head back to Patong.
I didnt know about this event until SMF told me, so maybe they need to get the word out better, as I really think it should be nice if we had such an event here regulary and offer something different. Maybe they should have a good laser show system aswell.

Its south of Patong beach, maybe 5-10 minutes ride from Patong. You have a nice view of Patong beach from that beach aswell.
I think it is a private beach. I used to go to this one many years ago but the last few years I think it has been closed for public and with a fence around it. But that was before the Tri Trang resort was built.

There are no private beaches in Thailand. Same like Belgium and France. Statesd in the law.
Problem is hotel companies buy the land after the beach and construct so that you can't get to the public beach anymore without going through the hotel. I think it happened like that at the Meridien also.
Only way to go to the beach is landing there by boat.

You're right Captain. With Le Meridien though, you can also pay a "day pass" fee, and get access to that beach as well as their common facilities (i.e. pool, gym, suana, etc.). I think it is somewhere in the range of 500 to 800 baht...

Tri Trang is just before Crystal Bay where the Merlin Beach Resort is located. (That will be marked on most maps - from south Patong Beach go up the bridge over the creek - Coral Beach Hotel then continue over the hilly road). I had lunch today at Paradise Beach which now has a fully black-top road all the way up and over from Crystal Bay.
I guess last night was ruined by the weather - but it would be good to check out.
When driving back down beach road through the Songkran madness noticed a new bar Club Lime - said was a nightclub - anyone checked it out yet?? (Near Rock City).

Nicke I reckon your going blind as well as mutton, I read about the tri trang party on thursday evening from a poster that was on your bar!!!! also they were offering free transport from town to the event, thought that was quite good.
Havn't been into club lime yet but it has appeared empty the last two times I have been by at night, but to be fair it wasn't that late maybe 12ish.
Will do a visit next time I'm in town as it does look good from the outside.
