4am closing

last couple of nights tai pan and baya closed at 4am on the dot - assume by the amount of people on the streets same for everywhere that is still open there

heard but not sure safari not excluded

assume its to do with new police chief

Isn't 4am the normal closing time for Taipan? Or am I misunderstanding your point?

Depends on what "normal" means I guess. According to the "zoning rules" (which I think is still officially in place) venues inside have to close at 1 AM. They tried to enforce 2 AM a couple of months back, but it has been back to 4 for a while now. Unless the Bangkok police is in town of course...

And Safari still has to "officially" close at midnight (being outside the zone). Yes, it looks closed at that time, but that's only coz it hasn't even really opened yet.

my point was that it seemed to be 'strict' 4am (music on, lights off please leave at exactly 4am) whereas before it was alot more casually around about 4am
