Non-Alcoholics and nightlife
This question may be rather unusual for many, however here is my dilemma. I do not drink alcohol and I was wondering if any of you have some ways to still enjoy the night scene while not drinking alcohol. By enjoy I mean drink suggestions that are non alcoholic and something that wont make me look like a dofus as with water.

Why do you worry about looking a doofus for drinking water? Drink whatever you like. One of the most dedicated *****mongers I know doesn't drink. He's perfectly happy to drink coke all night and doesn't give a sh1t what people think.

Juice, soda, Red Bull to keep you going 'til sunrise. Choices are plenty. And I wouldn't even worry about just having a bottle of H20 if that's what you feel like. The BGs won't mind what you drink as long as you offer to buy them lady drinks.

I am a non drinker, and have no problems in Patong or BKK. I switch between Water, Fanta (Green and Orange) and Sprite...to be honest, I think most blokes will be more interested in the shielas, than worrying about what you drink. When the bell gets rung, I just quietly refuse the nip....one of the BG's will always drink it for you......good luck on your trip.

Thailand is tropical and with that comes tropical drinks... They have all sorts of mango drinks...
This one guy I know that goes to Thailand more than I do is a complete party animal and doesn't drink. Nobody thinks twice of it, he enjoys himself just like us. He's even the kinda of guy that goes on stage pours Baht all over his body and has the woman snatch it off of him.
And you will find plenty of woman that don't drink either.

Don't worry about being a non-drinker.
There's a bit of joking around on this site about different guys' capacity to drink, or not drink, but it is mostly good natured.
I got hammered last night (not in Thailand) for the first time in a long time, and it served as a useful reminder to me that I don't need to have a skinful to have a good time.
In fact, if you're taking a friend home that night, who wants to be super mao anyway? Lay on the bed and pass out? Puke your guts up in the crapper? Not my idea of a fun end to the night.
And from the bar's perspective (just taking a guess here), they are probably happier to see you drinking Cokes all night, as the margins on the watered-down refill Coke in Thailand are probably higher than a bottle of similarly-priced beer.

May just be chit-chat, but have had girls compliment me when I ordered water or a coke. Not a teetotaller, but try to limit my consumption to 3 to 4 beers a night.

Also I am a non-alcohol drinker. Still I had a perfect time in LOS or anywhere that I go out. I just had coca cola, water or fruit juices.
Also on business trips to Russia where drinking is part of the culture.
And yes, a round from the bell-ring I just passed on to one of the BG's as mine didn't really drink too much alcohol either.

I believe that. A woman doing business will try to stay sober, otherwise, how could she arrange herself at her best to get the most of the night?
And you could also give a good impression to the women by not letting yourself drunk (or even if you don't drink alcohol, that's fine). And being sober means you are more alert and can give a better judgment on the venue/drink/meal/women there.

same, same me Frank, although I will drink one beer and at time a couple of rum & cokes, however mainly I dont drink much at all but the g/f and I go to many bars, gogos etc and just drink coke, or for the g/f - orange juice.
Never had any problems with the likes of Mai Chob etc if I dont drink and they do........I just like to watch them fall off the stools........55555555555...

Same here; also a non-drinker switching between soda and water. Had one large, tattooed guy look funny at me when ordering water at the bar, but then he said "None of his business" and turned away. What the hell do I care; at least I remember and savor the women more in my opinion.

why bother, i you don't want to drink, it's up to you.
i drink a few beers or breezers from time to time in LOS, but in general i take it easy with alcohol on holiday.
Hangovers in this hot and damp climate, not my idea of fun, and more personal experience: with too much alcohol in my system i have difficulties "preforming"

For once one of DB's very few good posts ... however with a board name like yours BE you are getting some very serious and genuine replies ... I reckon you should pop along a see Geir - who will educate you in how to drink .... its never to late to start !!

Some nights when i am in Thailand i will be but then other times i will mix between soft and alcholic drinks or just stick to soft drinks. It helps to drink plenty of water.

Last time i was in thailand i drank everyday, im a hardcore gym freak too and watch what i eat etc etc , but i just kinda freaked out and let go , it felt good to do so.
This time i will have some big nights out as i do enjoy drinking and people say im a completly different person when tipsy i.e much more flirting, joking etc etc
but this time ill pace myself and not drink everyday , gotta give the liver a rest ..... So not drinking should not be problem, it will allow you to make more informed decsions , if u know what i mean .

While there are plenty of BG's that drink more alcohol than anyone care to know there are also many of them that do not drink. All but one of the LT girls I have been with this trips has been non-drinkers or max 1-2 drinks. The girls that do not drink appreciate men that either do not or set limits.
Personally I enjoy a few (especially in LOS), but you will often see me switch to water or juice for the remainder of the evening as I do not like being too drunk/hangovers, plus if I were to continue drinking, I would be limited in what I usually have in mind for that night.

its weird, i couldnt even fathom going out and not drinking or having 2 or 3
like everyone else says, everybody is different
also, i would rather be with a girl that drinks
i honestly look for having fun while out more than the bedroom activities
