Keep hearing that sometimes girls won't come with you to this hotel. Please tell me this isn't true (as I am considering Staying here MAY 2008) I would prefer NOT to have any drama ...

Directly after the Tsunami there were one or two stories of this.. But a whole new generation of girls is around and I doubt this would be the case any more.

This goes back a couple of years to when some fella died on the job there and I don't mean he was painting the place !! With BG's believing in "ghosts" etc a few of them thought it was not good to back there with a customer and so rumours flew round that girls wouldn't go there.

I stayed there for a week in february this year and had no problems.

The Expat Hotel IS Phuket Hash House Harriers HQ right next to Faulty Towers Pub and Restaurant.

I have stayed 3 times at the Expat and all girls have liked it. No problem there. Heard they are doing construction work now thou, might want to check that it is finished. If it is please give a report. ¨^

I read the title and dashed to this page. Who is the ex pat who scares the girls and why does he scare them??? Is he a perv..or an alcoholic stalker...or a murderer??????????
Thinking of some names one of the criteria fits, and some who fit all the criteria i dived in and found you were talking about a b$*&%y hotel

As has been previously mentioned, the "Ex Pat Hotel', IS the Patong headquarters for the HHH. (hashers)

Is it any wonder, that Thai girls would be leery of venturing near there? 5555

I stayed there for nearly 2 weeks in may and had no problems at all. Didn't see any construction though, what are they doing there??

Also, what is the place next door to it?? Its on the left as you walk in, always heard loud music coming from there but never saw anyone walk in or out.

Used to be Galaxy music bar and disco - demolished in April.

Been there three times; never any trouble from girls.
Do beware of the heavy construction going on however. Major effort to enlarge rooms and remodel. Building a new balcony/hall, removing some palm trees. Tile cutting started at 7:30AM

I would stay there again when the construction is over, but it will take a long time I guess. I love the pool, location, and the manager/owner is a nice guy.

When i first read this post i thought you meant BG's are afraid of expats because they will not pay a BG more than 1000 baht a night.

Just to answer some of your queries.

Yes, a guest did die in on of the rooms several years ago.He actually is believed to have topped himself.The room was re done and the monks came and did the blessing.The Ex Pat was not affected by the Tsunami - too far in land.

There is construction work going on at the moment.They are enlarging the ground floor pool side rooms on two wings.This should be completed by end of August.

The main reason the girls may not like it is because they are aiming for more cushy surroundings in a bigger hotel probably.The Ex Pat has always been GF and their security guard keeps an eye out on who you bring in.
