it just seems to me tht a lot of newbies demand things and take it as granted, they want to consume but are not willing to give something back.
how many newbies have asked questions for their upcoming trips? and how many of those did write a trip report after they got back??? right, not too many...
it would be nice to see those asking questions give something back to the forum once their trip is finished.

Bravo. Can you explain how forgetfulness is related to stupidity and laziness?

Do you give them the opportunity? Do you ask them to? Are you kind, helpful, polite and encouraging? Who's going to bother giving feedback when their welcome is so poor?
(I mean you in the general sense)

as far as i'm concerned all the newbies that dont have an attitude and do a little intro get treated nicely...
one should read a little on this board before starting to post to get a feel how things are working around here...
some newbies come in and directly start to demand things... no wonder if they get taken of that high horse they're on...

Bars just for blokes? Grr.
Are there any bars where you can "hide" for women? You know, like bars back home, where you get beer, banter and football - and no women bothering you all the time. Almost all bars I see have women lurking, ready to pounce, on the next poor sap who wonders in for a quiet pint.
Too many birds in LOS. All my life I've been looking for "mythical bar" - one that is absolutely full of gorgeous women. I've always been convinced it exists. Now I've found it, I find I yearn for bars with other men. Explain that one!
So, where are the bird free bars in Patong?
|
Nice opening Dame.
It's just difficult to take guys (?) like you, too seriously!
BTW (by the way...in the newbie sticky), did you stop by the MTB (Mai Thai Bar), when in Patong. You know, being a BM (board member) on Nickes forum, and all.
The prosecution, rests!

i am kind of a newbie-only been to phuket twice. i usually go to pattaya and have used the pattaya pages board many times. imo from just reading the phuket forum it seems that some of the bm's are kind of negative to new bm's-just my opinion of course. also, i have used the search function and sometimes it does not seem to work for me.
ps-sometimes when i have a question i just pm nickie and he has always taken the time to answer my questions.

No need to pussy foot around here mate - I'm sure some BMs can take a bit of constructive criticism from a critical friend. Actually, maybe they can't...

Wow, isn't it an amazing coincidence that Fital69 and Dame both became BM's in March 2007. And that they signed up on the same day, maybe even the same exact time of day since Fital69 is BM #21067 and Dame is #21068.
Is this a case of a split personality? Or just twin trolls?

Do you care to elaborate what you mean with "negative to new bm`s"..
Everyone that comes in here get treated right in my oppinion, but if they start a post like the OP did here, they can count with a hard start, not to mention the lame Dame...
But if you read the sticky in the newbie section, and introduce yourself and show you done your homework, i cant see anyone being treated different.
Its like in real life when you meet people. If you start being an idiot, you will be treated like an idiot...

Lot of stalking going on round these parts...
Have I been to MTB? Have I feck! Why would I want to go there? Soi Eric's just about the most depressing place on the planet. Besides, I prefer beer bars, Columbo.

Or maybe rampant paranoia?
Admin: can you get rid of those rather bewildering smilies on the right and replace them with just one - a roll eyes gif will do just fine. Might get a lot of usage...

go back and hide under your bridge.
A little hint for you and your twin, a good introduction as a first post usually gets a lot more concise answers from forum members when you ask a question.
Most BM's who put their location down as "in my own mind" or "on the moon" or "my house" turn up being trolls. Just like Richie.
Don't worry, we've got your number and I for one am sure that you will not be here much longer.
As Tarzan said, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. We wouldn't want you to bruise your brain.

This threads gone out of control ..
I think what people are trying to get across is that as a newbie it would be nice to have a polite introduction etc etc and then mabye ask a few questions rather than a very rude one by the original poster ....
People on here i find are very responsive to a polite person and of course if he cant bothered to seach or contribute to the board the opinion and concencus mabye why should i bother ????

This thread is fun. Quite a feeding frenzy. Me and Tarzan would be happy to flame it to a closing.
BTW. What's a newbie? And how much do they charge?
