a cautionary tale
This thread is from the nanaplaza forum. It`s not light reading, but makes the point better than any argument that any monger would be wise to put his jacket on, or even consider circumcision. Brave fellow, I wish him well.
Warning to everyone, HIV test came back positive... - Thai360 - Powered by FusionBB
BTW, where is hiv testing done in patong?

HIV Test
You can get in done in Phuket Bangkok Hospital or the International.
I had it done in BNH in Bangkok when I got my eyes lasered. I was more worried about the test coming back positive than the laser surgery.
I quick blood test and a 20 minute wait for about 600 baht, well worth getting done.
Mine came back all clear.
Too bad for this guy though, and kinda puts things in perspective.
Always rubber up and bring ure own the Thai one are no good.
Regards
Drew

It is a sad story, and this goes to show that you should strap up...
Infact i remember one trip where i did bareback, and i read on the internet about HIV and i hasd one of the symptoms. The symptom i had was swollen neck glands. I thought oh hell I'm in trouble, However my test came back negative and the cause of my swollen neck glands..... beggining of tonsilitis. Luckily that was all it was but it was a worrying period... And one, i personally, never want to go through again.

I have heard it before that itīs better to be circumcised, that itīs harder to get HIV then. Is this true?? And if it is, WHY? Sounds weird...

But there are still guys asking if its neccessary to use condoms?FCUK!!! Feeling sad for this guy, but he seems to be lucky being well off financially. Not like some other around the world who cant afford the medical treatment.I always used condoms beside the times i have been in long term relationship. It isnt an issue only in Thailand, but especially in the p4p scene. I honestly canīt understand the guys doing it bareback.

There has been reports of that, however, one should not hang their hat on studies like that. Never ever ever ever boom boom without protection.

I would never intentionally boom boom bareback and hope I never will do this eighter in some semi unconsious drunken mode... But atleast my experience has been that the BGīs are very good at managing the protection part when you are drunk, I meen if they even for a second thinks that you might not have thought of a condom, they will remind you.
But maybe a BG that knows she has HIV, doesnīt give a **** anymore, and thus would do it bareback? I personally would get very scared if a BG told me that we could do it bareback...

This is true and in fact has been suspected for many years as there was a much smaller hiv infection rate in africa in the areas where the men practised circumcision. This has been backed up by a number of studies since.
The explananation is that circumcision exposes the tip of the penis, which gradually gets roughened by contact with clothing, causing a tougher layer of skin to form. This layer is more difficult for the virus to penetrate.
However, this only lowers your chances of getting the virus, it does not eliminate the risk completely by any means.

Sounds resonable... but in the end, itīs all a big lottery who gets it or not, but of course you can better your chanses by using protection, but nothing is 100% condoms brake etc...

Well yes, it`s all one big crap shoot as our american cousins in the colonies say
The only sure way not to get hiv is to be completely celibate, but thats no life at all.
Life is all about risks, so you have to make educated choices.
For me, receiving bb bj has so tiny a risk that I will continue. However, I will rubber up for penetration.
Going to the other extreme, you might be lucky and not get hiv from receiving unprotected **** sex from a ladyboy who shares iv needles for drug use, but you`d be spitting in the face of lady luck and daring her to do her worst.

Well, you arenīt even safe by being that, you can get into an traffic accident, get taken to some hospital where you get a blood transfusion with some hiv positive blood.
or when you walk some dark street at night, some junkie comes and stick you with an infected neadle...
yeah, the chanses are slim, but it is possible...

First dont go bare back repeat donot go bare back survey's done durring the 1990's in the usa showed greatly reduced thats reduced risk of infection in circumcised gay men who were the giver if you now what i mean on the inside of the forskin there are tiny recepters that transmit fluid both ways so no foreskin one less way to catch it still heaps of other ways so dont go bareback this info can be found out it is public they just dont like telling people because D****heads think they cant catch it

Although it is true that most girls are careful about always using condoms, you should never depend on the girl to speak up. In fact, over the years, I have been with at least a dozen girls who did not want to use condoms, and a few of them were very insistent about not using condoms!

If a girl would insist on NOT using protection, then I would presume that she had STDīs and I would really think twice before even having protected sex with her.

hiv ain't the only thing out there. the whole circumcision thing supposedly helps because your skin gets tougher and less likely to break allowing an infection in.

I used to go get tested every 3 months or so.. And have in truth made countless 'mistakes' so many I shudder at the thought..
I have linked it in the past but if you want a tear jerker dig out 'aoms story' on Thai visa.. Threads like that sure hammer it home.

The risk is ever present and this guys story is levelling, to say the least.
Lookinbg at the stats though, Thailand is not the risk it was, thankfully.
On saying that, I agree that protection should always be used but, like livin I too have had 'accidents.' Last one not so long ago but test was clear.
Its definately a worry as from the BG's entertainment recently I sought 2 were not insistent on condoms and it was my decision to use one.
