Culture??...Respect???

Well, I guess this is my first post since I am abit old member of this site.
I just would like to have some idea from you guy about "European Culture" with "Respect" ...If you guy go somewhere likes go to bar with your wife. And you meet some of sexy bargirl and probably that you like her. Will you let your wife know?? well, tell you of some story and maybe you can give me some idea. One night my friend with her husband and I we went to some bar in Phuket.
And we really had a good time there. Actually it is a good bar but of course every bar in Phuket should have a bargirl. But these girl they are quite nice.
They are very friendly. I and my friend who feel really comfort when we are there. Then I saw that my friend husband keep looking at one bar girl. And later my friend ask to him

My friend: "hey..who is here you like the most"
Husband : "umm.." start to look around .. and point the figer to the one that he keep looking "yeah, that's one"
It's same one that he keep looking ..
My friend : "yeah, I know...you keep looking her all the time..that why I asked you"

then a while later that girl walk pass infront off us. He stop her and said
Husband : "hey, my wife said that I like to look at you" ...
That girl : ...make the face abit confuse...
My friend : "hey, why you have to tell her about that"
Husband : "why not..it's normal"
My friend : "shite.." and she get really dispoint...

Actually that night we have a good time together ..we took a lot of photo together.. and my friend husband told to that lady ..we will send her an email with photo. My friend already got her email address but she didn't say anything to her husband.

After that I guess they will have a big fight or probably not...

Well.. the next day..they go there again.. and we seat 3 on the table. and that girl was walking around my friend's husband keep looking at that girl all every 5 mins. Even she seat behind him. He moved his head to turn around to see that girl. I feel really bad with that. Atlease you come with your wife. Why you show it a lot . Later, he asking to that girl.

Husband : "hey, you didn't give me the email yet"
Bar gril : "no, i gave to your wife already"
Husband : turn his face to look at my friend" and shout to his wife " Fanculo (meaning f...ck you), I asked you 3 time but you said "no"
My friend : with the sad face " yes, yes I got it.

Then big fight after in the car...
My friend : "why you have to show too much that you like that girl"
Husband : "what???...what I did???"
My friend : " you keep looking at the girl even I'm seating there with you and you say F..ck you to me because of the bicth's email??"
Husband : "Oh, I don't know if I do that is look wrong in thai culture..in my culture is normal. You never respect me as I respect you"
My friend : "????" then br br br

Sorry for long story..but anyone have any idea about this.

All men, regardless of culture, will always look at sexy women.
Married men, of course, have to be more discreet and toe the line between looking and leering.

To answer you, yes, europeans are generally ok with the husband looking because she knows he's just looking and won't do more than that.
In fact, the wife sometimes participates by commenting about the beauty.


But in this case, maybe the husband showed too much interest in the girl.
So the wife, obviously feels disrespected and also jealous (your friend's thai, right?)

This jealousy led her to lie to him about the email.

I think he cussed her because she lied to him, not so much that about the culture or respect bit.

So yes, it happens for falangs but your friend's husband took it too far.

i am not a jealous person at all
i have zero problem with my gf pointing out that she finds a man attractive and i think she realized it is no big deal if i find a girl attractive

Well, Marc. I understand what do you mean. I think is normal to look to other attractive men or women. But my idea about this story that that guy he show too much to that bar girl. What is dispoint her is the way that her husband talk with her. My friend she is a nice girl and she is not a nightlife girl. I think also for this reason that why her behave is like this.

Well, Nantana. I knew what did you mean by that. If you read it carefully what I tried to say is not because of her husband looking at that girl. Actually, me and my friend we knew that girl as well. The night before when we have fun together my friend was tried to joke her husband by asking who's the most you like in this bar. And her husband was point to the girl that my friend was expecting. But that is fine atlease he said true to her. But what that upset her that after he point to that girl and my friend said. "yeah, I knew because you keep looking at her all the time" but that not was upset or nothing just to joke him. But then he say to that girl "hey, my wife said that I like to look at you" ... and that bar girl was looking at my friend in the strange way with some question on her face. my friend tried to explain to her that was joke but the way she answered was not so friendly. "yeahh, don't worry, a lot of the guy likes your husband that came here with wife/gf and they like me." (the answer way of bit.ch..i guess)

And then the day after we went there again in the afternoon. And we can see her face that probably she like abit my friend's husband. But maybe she just would like to joke with my friend. And my friend's husband keep looking at her even she seating behind him. he keep turning around his head to look at her even me and his wife seating there.

For my idea to joke and to look is normal. But this time he was showed to much in my idea. And when my friend tried to discuss with him he become angry and try to saying about the culture and respecting.

Hi Nantana, You're right. That's what I tried to tell to my friend. But she was really upset about the behave way of her husband feed back after she tried to discuss. By the way now they are ok because they have discussed again after both of them calm down.
