Bangla closed last night about 02.20

Because there is a "high police" (Bangkok?) in town.

The thing that amazes me such nights is how crowded Bangla is when all bars shuts same time, packed with girls on Bangla and Sansabai and a lot more traffic.

Where do people go when this happens?

Safari? Or do they just hang around Sansabai at some of the guesthouse bars?

It must be quite a sight seeing so many people out on the street looking to 'hook up'.

Cool The price of admission

This was always a tacit agreement between the bars owners and the police.Even Taipan and VIP Asia closed.

If a big wig VIP cop or politician visit town then everything is to close at two am.

We make the MIB look good and they in turn are relaxed about closing.

Most people went on up Soi Sans Sabai and when I went past at 0330 there were plenty of people in the Pizza place and Didi's.

I wonder if they also closed the places like Galaxy or the karaoke bars nearby. Would be interesting to know because it could be a good destination to try on nights with early closings.

Were the bars allowed to stay open later again the night after?

In my experiene, days like this affect everyone, bangla bars to karaoke and galaxy places. Tonight were normal, just one night of early closing.

Cool Back to normal

I was out last night and everything was back on track.I had my last few beers in the rain at Dingos at 4am and then decided to brave the storm and get wet going home.

For a while I thought I would outlast the rain with another beer.I am glad I did not try that as it is still raining now 12 hours later.

Last night police come and closed 03.00, 3 black cars parked on Bangla "Police special unit". I dont see these cars that often, more common to see the standard police pickup.

The peak-capped ones were checking on Night Station too in Soi Sukhumvit which was closed down a few months ago for allowing in underage girls.

I saw the cars as well when I left Shipwreck to go to Hells Bells.I thought someone was making a Gangster Rap movie.

Had a late one with Mr G and WTGBN
