When I was a newbie, I was probably spending another 1,000-2,000 a day...........This was due to being a 2 week millionaire & I let many BG's milk me for LD's & I was tipping way too much
Just asking!! What do you consider the the right amount to tip at the bars, and also how many LD is too many (Just want to be prepared at not get taken for a ride) Thanks

But when hitting the bars for ST or one night stands paying too much LD's is just a waiste of money. Meeting a girl in a bar and being friendly and nice to her will get you a far better time than paying loads of LD's. Showing you are a big spender does not impress the ladies, they'll just think you are silly and suck you dry (moneywise that is) anyway

Yes tell the banks last year all my UK cards were blocked after i used them, 1st time this has ever happened in 12 yrs of visiting and spent an afternoon calling the various banks. (10k by the way safe amount to carry)

Spending about 10k per day at the moment, but i am going for it a bit. If i stop getting spun for LD's and losing at bar games, i might spend a bit less! It's all great fun though

Pricing as a couple
We spent about 1,500 to 2,000 baht durig the day. (not including shopping)
At night which was generally at the first bar at 10:30/11pm to about 3/4am we would spend any where between 5,000 to 14,000bht not including any bar fines or ST.

why is it that everyone wants to tell you how much they spend ? personally i`m trying to reduce my daily expences as much as i can while at the same time maximising my experience .. 1 tiger costs 70 baht therefore im blind drunk at 1400 baht (20 beers) if your spending more than 5 k in a night out then your blowing your cash .. start your night with 6 beers from 7/11 and try dating the same girl more than once .. = under 3 k a night .. but maybe you only spend 2 weeks there a year while im trying to do 2 months plus .. ? .. just my 2 cents worth.

why does your bar bill increase when you go out with FRIENDS ? do they not pay there own way .. please add me to your friends list so as i may take advantage of you as well. Read me OP .. im trying to maximise my experience while minimising my expences .. thus extending the duration of my trips ..

well theres alot of peeps in patong that will will happily go (on tour) as you say with a guy thats putting 5 k on the bar but are they really your friends ?
.. ill be in Pats for 3 months in late feb .. would happily come to patong to ride your coat tails .. like i said .. see OP for what im about

5k does me ok any less and i have to go back and get more sometimes,if you spend any more than that you must be throwing it about,i use the money at my hotel to pay the ladies though

I agree with the guys who say about 5000 bhat a day is sufficient, my usual spending consisted of ;
molly malones for lunch and spending about 400, hitting the beach - 100 for sunbed , 200 for drinks, early evening drinks on bangla - 200, dinner - 800, beers plus lady drinks - 1500 bar fine - 400, LT - 1000-1500 thats just an average , some days a day time massage with a happy ending may be thrown in for an extra 700 , and some days you drink alot more than others. 10,000 from the ATM every 2 days did the trick...
