cheap beer or dearer beer?

For my next trip i've decided to drink Singha or Chang beer which is cheaper than Heiniken which means i can spend half the money i did in my last trip! OR i could drink twice as much as i did previously, burn myself out and save money by not being fit for boom boom....decisions, decisions

Now let me think about this...............hmmmm....more beer less boom boom, or less beer and more boom boom...................hmmmm.. well I reckon it took me less time to make my own decision on this than it did for me to type this full stop.

I used to drink Singha but it is not as good now they have lowered the abv so I now drink Chang which is finew by me.

Do not normally drink Heiniken anyway.

Youd could drink cheap beer but drink no more than you would Heiniken have have more money for boom boom

Never drink Heineken. I'll drink either Singha, Chang or Tiger, sometimes in the hot afternoon sun I will have a chilled Breezer or Strongbow with ice and later in the night I'll go onto Bacardi & Coke or a few Sambuca's if the mood hits me.

Booze or Boom Boom?

Depends what I'm in the mood for, If its a booze I'll get merrily drunk and if there is a BG in tow think about the boom boom next morning.

No its not Nelce, Guiness is only Guiness tasting in Ireland, totally different, smoother, creamier, less acidic aftertasting. Guiness in Uk or anywhere else outside of Ireland that I have drunk from the bottle or on draught, no good but funnily enough whilst not as good as in Ireland, from the can sort of inbetween, much the best alternative if you cannot get to Ireland, in my opinion, using my tastebuds, thinking outloud by myself.

I just hate anything in cans.....and seems sacreligious to put Guiness in it for me....

Have seen a couple of the Guinness in a can sold in KL, very expensive.

Have not seen Guinness in bottles, although it's on the website.

Lost me a bit there Nelce but okay will try to write it a little clearer.

The best tasting guiness is brewed an sold in Dublin, Eire, made with the water from the River Liffey (bad spelling), draught.

Tried guiness from bottles or from thekeg in many different parts of the world and it never tastes as good, not a smooth or creamy but a little bit more sharp and acidic tasting than that served in the Dubbers pubs.

However when I have tried the guiness from the cans and especially the special can that does something to the guiness before you drink it, it is better tasting than the bottled or draught I've had outside of Eire.

Not as good but in between in the taste like Dubbers guiness. So in conclusion, guiness doesn't seem to travel well or can not be made without the famous river water, but does at least taste a bit better when stored in the can.

Feck thats enough for me today, got to go and have a little lie down now, this is like work but without any money being stuck in my garter. (whoops, nearly let the cat out the bag there!!)

Guiness Tinnies are bearable.. Not the same as a well poured irish pint but not much worse than the sing brewed pints we get here.. 200 baht a can in deli currently.. I get the odd craving and need to go have a few pints in one of the irish bars or a few cold tins..

Cool

Don't forget, there's an art to pouring a good pint of Guinness

Most of us just rip the can open and drink !!

Going back to the OP, Chang and Singha give me horrendous hangovers, I don't like Heineken, so I drink Tiger. Even though it's a tad more expensive, I'd rather pay the extra, for a much clearer head the next day.

Cool Just for you

We may have solved your problem The Beel Lao Dark is available and is 6.5 in strength and retailing for 80 to 90 Baht. You can afford to get sh1tfaced and stagger home.

Guinness Being from Ireland I am very particular about that glorious brew.I have to agree with most of the other comments. The main problem with the Asian brewed Guinness is that they have had to put an added chemical in it to stop it going off in the keg due to the heat. This gives it a bad aftertaste.

The Tins of Draught (widgit ones) are brewed in Dublin and if poured correctly at ice cold temprature are as near the real thing as you can hope for.

I am going back to Ireland next month to do some extensive research - know what I mean???

Yeah even the can seems to taste better if you let the widget work then pour it and let it settle.. Might be psychological tho..

Something very appealing about that wait as a pint settles before the first sip..

All this Guinness talk making me thirsty, going off to the pub after work for some pints.

Hopefully i get a pint from a new barrel.

Cant keep the barrel for more than a couple of days, else it will taste weird.

Cheers.
