Very pretty girl, Andy. Looks like a sweet one, too. But you got screwed royally by the hotel. If you book in with a girl, then she is not a joiner since she didn't join you later. For all they know, she could have been your wife!!

Hi Andy ,
Dont worry about making this mistake 1st time you go to los , many of us have been in this situation before , my 1st time i went through a travel agent and stayed in the Rembrant hotel in Bangkok , lovely hotel but not guest friendly so i had to make do with short time rooms and soapies to keep me entertained , when i got to patong and to another 4 * hotel , same story although they allowed me to bring a girls back for several nights without saying a word , the hotel was full of german families and i was the only single man (monger) in the hotel so it was probably embarrasing for them .
After about 5 nights they looked very serious on my return from the bars and asked for 1000 baht so i payed it but stayed at the apartment of the girl i was going longtime with for the 3 nights i had left after to avoid more costs only going back to the hotel occasionally in the daytime to pick up various things i needed .
I think they found it all very amusing , anyway the point is we all make mistakes especially if you like me had not found a forum like this before the very 1st trip , take the good advice of others here and only book with the many guest friendly hotels mentioned like C&N hotel & the Expat hotel .
You can usually make an advance booking by simply emailing them without any problems , you can visit an online site for your flights seperately , i use www.airline-network.co.uk and find i usually pay between £450 to £550 for Heathrow/Bangkok/Phuket return , you will find its the same cost to add on the connection flight to phuket as the price for Heathrow to Bangkok only.
I usually call them rather than going through the online booking process and find usually some better deals not advertised on the site also.
I used a hotel called Paripas Mansion which does have a website if you use a search engine , does not have the great location same as the C&N because it is on Soi Nanai at the back of patong but they rent bikes for 150 baht a day so walking far aint a problem for me , they usually charge me 600 baht low season & 800 baht high season per night and are definately guest friendly.
In high season they may ask you to tone down your activites a little with a quiet word in your ear , this is if you are bringing several girls together as i have in the past but in low season 3 - 4 girls aint a problem .

thanks for the reply jaybee and butterfly Blond,since ive been computing (only 18 months)and found Phuket info, its been a mine of information,especially which hotels to use,ive been to los, 7x before, and on every trip ive made some kind of cuck up !BUT NOT ANYMORE!thanks to all the advice here , ive booked the expat hotel for Xmas and I'm staying for 33 days9 DEC--to 10 Jan so if anyones around during that time maybe we could have a drink or 3 !BTW i just remembered,you can have a guest at the holiday inn no problem and free of charge, but they have to leave by a certain time ,i think it was 8-00 in the evening (i think thats right,but dont take it as gospel!)
