I like the kata view point stop after a day out at the beach down rawai, I also drop in on the one on safari hill and even one on nanai.. The kata one gets a bit crowded with farang sunset watchers as its a good spot.

What I do like about Thailands reggae bars.. Is that in many places we go theres bars with Thai women to meet, but rarely are there thai guys.. Secondly in the Thai side of the market theres bars and karaokes where Thai guys go but you need to be very concious of where your going and your not always as welcome.
But Thai reggae bars are generally safe ground, friendly, and easy going.. Sure they may be stoned but that at least means you can relax a little as low aggression or chance of problems. So its a easy environment to say hi and met some local guys which can be less easy in some places.

Last holiday I was walking down Nanai Rd. when a big rain started. Found shelter in a tiny "reggae bar". It apeared the bar was run by some thai guys who used to rent waterskooters at the beach. Had lots of fun that afternoon and got home mao mak mak. Bar is located on the left side when you walk down Nanai from south to north... near Nicky 1.
Cheers,
Raval

Have had a few good times in the reggae bar at the end of soi seadragon. Its one of the few places in patong that actually feels like a beach bar. Another plus is its at the end of the soi near the toilets, so you'll see many girls walk by to use the loo if - if you see one you like just watch which bar she goes back to and grab her later.
