Friday Night DJ @ BYD Lofts
Last Friday me and a mate took a couple of girls along to BYD Lofts. Every Friday they have a DJ on playing quality house...he also plays the violin and organ and sings a little. Sounds a bit strange you may think but believe me he was really good!
The drinks were not too pricey bottled beer range 80-120 THB and the cocktails were 220 THB I think? Can't quite remember as I was bit pissed due to the excellent cocktails.
The decor is top notch as you would find in a trendy spot in London. We had a look at the rooms upstairs and again top notch! If you can afford it or just want to treat your loved one well worth a night or two.
They have a happy hour...sorry forget the times...and they do promotions and free Tapas. We got there late about 11pm but still got free food. Again the food was excellent.
We then headed off to Club Lime where the music was also good quality house.
So if you fancy a night out comparible to any major city such as NY, Manchester, London etc this I think is the only place in Patong for it.

Drew posted in another thread that BYD are doing a 2K Baht room on Fridays only (Subject to availability I guess!).......Throwing in some wine and Tapas. Sounds OK if you fancy taking that 'Special' lady in your life for a night out.
I like how the bottles light up in time with the music in Club Lime......Then again..............I was pissed!
Thanks for the info MH.

DJ Mickey (?????) is the best DJ in Patong right now. On par with what you would find in the better clubs in BKK. Well he still DJs up in BKK a few times a month. Club Lime would be second best. So doing BYD Lofts and Club Lime back to back is a good way to do it music wise.
Only problem is both are a little slow. Not quite enough people to have a real scene. Hopefully that will change with high season.
Stylish people and place. Good alternative to the norm.

BYD lofts (bar) is definitely on my "must do", next tour.
I sometimes enjoy a ride up the hill to Baan Yin Dee, for a nice supper and refreshing atmosphere. Piano bar type, I mean.
It for sure, would be a wecome relief from the constant drumming (bom, bom, bom, bom)...of some of the Bangla Soi's. (especially LOUD, is Tiger, these days)

Daft question, does BYD (lofts) have something to do with the Baan Yin Dee resort and if so how far is it away?
I've got two weeks booked in that place for my tour in November.

BYD Lofts
The Hotel is up the Hill to the South of Patong Beach, going south past the Holiday Inn.
The Lofts are at the North End of the Beach 2 roads back from the Beach.
They were built by the same designer and owner. I met the guy when it was being built before it opened last Christmas and he showed me around.
There were 2 options for you to buy and furnish yourself or buy and let them furnish it and rent it out for you.
Nice place and I had a look at them again in April and September. They seem very eager to make it into more than just an apartment complex that investors rent out. They are always doing special promotions on a Friday night (first 10 girls through the door get a free bottle of wine, promotions on a room on Friday with free wine and food)
BYD Lofts, Phuket, Patong Beach, Thailand

I'll take you two up on your offer then! Pabs and Nels and Moi.
BYD Lofts won't know what's hit them when they see three sophisticated international men of mystery walk in the joint.
Tux's me thinks!

Sounds delightful.
And for me...
"I'll have a Martini (Tanqueray), quite dry please. Shaken (if you will), rather than stirred, with a slight twist of lemon."
"And, whatever they young lady (nodding across the bar) will have..."
