Thumbs up The Kamalalala Thread

Seeing as the 'other' Mr D has buggered off over the hill to Patong and I am stuck in with a cold, sore throat and Rambo, First blood on the telly, I thought I would make a start on the 'Kamalalala' Thread.

Over time I have sussed that people think this is a sleepy little backwater hick village with loads of thugs on bikes going round causing mayhem..........and they'ed be right...........BUT! There is more to Kamalalala land that just that.

We have devised a top quality map and will review the bars for you as a public service to the Forum. I know, I know, you are just thinking this is an excuse to go out on the lash, drink beer and talk to girlies..........Again, you'd be right.

Anyway, first three bars on the Great Map of Kamalalala is No:1 Lek Bar - No:2 Summer Breeze (I know, very similar isn't it!) and No:3 Maydens Bar.

I'll sign off now to catch the start of Rambo, it's good training for when dealing with the KBG.

Any specific criteria you want us to check then please feel free to let us know.

Mr D

I'd rather be out on the lash with the other two Mr D's Johnny but feeling rough as a dog. Even my bloody teeth are aching!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks Roger, should be a good night in Patong tonight as there are no bars open in Kamalalala due to the local elections here (Well, one or two are open but not saying which ones here!) Tuk Tuk loads of Kamalalala BG's heading over to Patong to freelance for the night! Brilliant.

Had 73 phone calls today trying to secure a 1000 baht for a 'night off' at Castle Denver this evening! 5555555

Lived in Kamala for 9 months, loved it and hated it until I surrendered!
The biker gang are a nuisance and could be dangerous, have had two encouters with them but they lost those rounds.
Bars in Kamala, top 4
1, Koi's bar
2, Danny's
3, Beergarden
4, Long ma doo

There are a couple of other good bars but I am sorry, I can't recollect their names.

Hi MegaMik, we will be reviewing those bars also.

Koi's One and Koi's two are numbers 44 and 16 on our list. Just numbers, not an order of preference.

Danny's Place is 39 and we didn't find the last one you mentioned! Nothing stopping us going having another look. Give us some steerage if you can Mik.

Iltis, it will be great to see you. Let us know when you are passing through, still working on the map, could only find a picture of a deer but if you close one eye it looks like an elephant! The petrol pumps are Rosso dealers.

Yeah,I know...it`s also a famous bus stop for where to pick up Kamalalala-based
Hashers and also a great stop for a piss break on the return from those "somewhere near the airport" hash runs !!

*****With my limited Thai I think Rim Haad literally means 'Beach Road' - The bloke who I copied the map off has Rimhad Road and I have changed the signed to read to Patong as he had missed the 'g' off. I know that is a deer and not an elephant, I have no elephant icons. 5555555 Imagine it's an elephant.

Thanks for the edit Roger, it was needed. Might need a few more before this thread has run it's course!!!!!!!*****

That's probably the safest option for a Hasher, stay close to the bus and get out as quick as possible. Those three lads on the Honda waves can turn nasty at anytime! 555555555

Can you PM me the addresses of the Kamalalala based Hashers or do we just look for all the odd socks on the washing line?

For me, the most important thing to know about Kamalalala is where to get the best steak sandwich, and that would be at Sportsman's Bar/Cafe. Best steak sandwich on the island, hands down!!

Well is this bloke French or Swedish Mik? 555555555

Next to Koi's 1 is Little Aussie Bar and Kho Kee Bar and next to Koi's 2 is Chok Dee Bar and Papillion Bar.

Thanks for opening the new thread on Kamalalala.

There seems to be lots of useful information here.

Before you say it, "I have tried the search function", and I can find any answers!.

But I'm wondering about hotel availability in Kamalalala?

What I require, is something on the beach (prefer a poolside suite), with 24 hour room sevice. I'd require a room, that can sleep 6...as my mates and I will be sharing expenses. (It would really be awesome, if the restaurant had french food on the room service menu. My mates and I, would really like that).

My mates and I, are planning on coming to Thailand during Christmas and New Year's this year. How do we get from Bangkok to Kamalalala????

My (our) budget for the hotel, is in the range between 700b and 950b, per night. Is it possible to find this in Kamalalala???? If so, can you tell me...do they charge for "other" people, who may come to the room? tee-hee-hee

Are there any girls from Greece in Kamalalala during Christmas? One of my friends brother's, went to Greece about 4 years ago. And he said (they) were the greatest. (you know...doing greek. tee-hee-hee)

Do they check for ID's in the bars in Kamalalala?

How much money do you need to like, get a "chick" in Kamalalala? And what can you expect to get, for that price? (what does ST/LT/BBBJ/BG mean?)

Guess that's all for now. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Could you PM me if one of your mates should happen to drop out, as I am looking for the same kind of accommodations in Kamalala, but am trying to economize? You guys sound like a great bunch, so I am sure I could fit right in!

Thats the good thing about lala land.. Its out of Patong but not deathly silent.. I was out on a ride about yesterday and theres some nice land plots around Loch Palm (and a millionaires golf villa overlooking a superb view) all for sale.. But theres not so much as a noodle stall worth stopping at.

I know a couple of Patong refugees who have holed up over there in the last 6 months..

Bar crawl mid week ??

The Kamalalala Thread will be down shortly for routine maintenance. Please rest assured that all your enquiries will be answered in due course by one of the three Mr D's. (Mr D1 and D2 are kipping and I am about to....Mr D3)

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to all the occupants of Block 'E' here at Kamala Hills who may be reading. The Fire alarm at 0745 was in fact me and a wonky toaster. Those smoke detectors are sensitive aren't they? Tch!

In the meantime if you would just like to whistle the tune to 'Fly me to the Moon' by Frank Sinatra to yourselves. This is the music we wanted you to hear...........but I can't get the CD to work.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Please check back regularly.

Mr Denver, did you get any more info on the "Chuck Dorris" rocket thingie's, for your motorbike?

I may like to try some of those out, on my own bike.

I saw D2 and D3 @ MTB last (assuming you are D1 Denver having traveled to more countries than the Pope 'kinda like' (northern accent)) ....

You missed the naked girlies giving free lip service and Nicke's Swedish bar experience (sitting in the wind and rain) .... they seems a little guarded as I was in offense mode (never know if some misguided HBer might turn up) ... still hope your felling better now D1.

Oh and BTW ... 3 out the 5 best bars in Kamalalalala are owned by Hasher's ...

So where's ...

Kamala Beer Garden
Baan Rin Klong
Corner Bar

.... on your map??

Or my 2 favorite 2 bars ...

3 wat-sits
Bar B^^ D^^

Over to you D1.

I'm sorry I've been a little lacking in this thread so far but I was out training last night for this weeks bar crawl event of the century!!

I see D1 has gone off as usual a little early as we havn't done two of the first three bars yet!! premature threaderator that he is!! hopefully we can sort that little glitch out tonight or tomollow, assuming the bars are open again after the tambon elections, (I like that word 'tambon' will think up a new meaning for it this week!)

Have been doing a lot of ringing round in the background today, attempting to get everything organised for the lala tour and reckon I've negotiated with the KBG to allow strangers in to Lala on either Tuesday or Friday this week. Say from about 3 or 4pm? meet in the Beer Garden? thought this was a good time as happy million hours starts at 4pm, then on to Malcs and then 3 Sisters, cos their happy hours also start about this time.

Then we have received a very generous offer from Rosso (wine of champions) to sponsor a BM bbq at the Hills round the top pool, free beer, food and of course a Rosso wine tasting event. Thought we could limit this to a couple of hours, pool is available, for those who like getting wet or not as the mood takes us.

Then with our belly's full and eyes starting to glaze over, reckoned on hitting the real bars later that night for Alala extravaganza tour to beat all previous tours!!! there don't say I can't organise a pi$$ up in a lala!!!

Oh and as a double wammy, we can get plenty of pictures which we can feed the Kamala thread for a least a few weeks!! there Dman see I might arrive late but I have real staying powa!!! (tinglish spelling)

So is this a separate 2 day lala-scapade now.. Or a 3 part one day lalascapade ?? I like the 2 day idea as I can come and be a pest on a bar crrawl and then come and bring the missus for full take-care-of-tilaak points another..

Need to fit this in around Phuket town face piercing this week (ohh such a busy calender)..

Sounds good Mr D. Just got back from town and only managed to do one of the three things I had set for today. No haircut, Couldn't pay my utilities but managed to get my laundry. Forgot it was Sunday.

Yes, I started the thread, I was all excited about it and it was Rambo on the telly, so I threw caution to the wind and kicked it off.

Sledge, yes, we do arrange guided tours of the village for a small nominal fee. Your head must be covered and wear long trousers with shaven legs. It's a Kamalalala thing.

Still working on the rockets Pablo. I have a little chap making me the tubes out of old scaffolding. I did warn him about welding near to the actual rockets and after a loud bang late last night we haven't seen him so far today. I'll let you know how I get on.

Could Kev expand on the Naked lady lip service thingy?

I'll mark the map and up-date it as we go along. Only the first three on there so far, there's lots to go yet. Patience.

PS I want to be Mr D3, I told you that before........S'not fair!

You should always find time to visit Kamalalala Bello, No matter how tight your schedule is.

The revving of the Kamalala Bike Gangs 125cc engines in the background as you peruse the many Paris style shopping outlets such as Le Billabong or Le Abercrombie le Fitch!

Miles of golden, unspoiled sandy beach which I jog along almost daily, savouring the sand between my toes.

The sight, sounds and smells of the local market held twice a week, filling your nostrils with gastronomic delights such as the roasted frogs, little cockroach things and locusts on sticks.

The "ooooooyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee You velly hansum maaaaaan" call of the local wild life often makes me smile and apply the brake of my bike and stopping (After checking if it is happy hour of course) a short time while before seeking solitude at the local wat, discussing how we can make Kamalalala a better place to live and asking forgiveness.

Place Kamalalala high on your next visits agenda Bello, you won't be disappointed.

Yes indeedy! I am still finalising the Map. Went for a snooze instead but............Baan Rim Klong (House in Orchard next to stream Glasshopper) is Bar No:17 (We are still discussing if this falls into the true meaning of a bar or is it a restaurant? Are the girls BFiable?)......And Vienna Bar is No:23.

Those yellow petrol pump signs on the Great Map of Kamalalala are Rosso outlets, and don't sell petrol.........Don't fill your bikes there.........OK?

Going to be busy me thinks!!!
