Personally I think if you spend time in a bar buying drinks and lady drinks. Why is thier even a BF??? The girl has done her job in keeping the customer there and the owner has made money. Is that not her job? And why owners have girls in their bar? To get customers to come in and drink.
In four years in Thailand I may have paid a half dozen BFs. Like someone said meet them later. Most are all willing to do that. LT and ST prices.... Paying these 2000-5000k prices really screws up the prices by paying those amounts. Eventually all the girls want it and worse thinking they deserve it. Supply and demand I always tell them when it comes to negotiating the business deal. Which is what it is. There another 10 waiting 2 meters away. Call me Cheap Charlie if you wish.... And please don't compare Hua Hin to Phuket. Not even close to being the same.

Agree that 500 for a barfine is expensive, but some bars in Soi Tiger have a higher barfine than that. If I remember the name correct, there is a bar in soi Tiger called "Cheeky bar", and there the barfine was 1000...
 atleast it was 1000 for the ones that where dancers. I had a girl from that bar and she said directly that "Dont pay barfine" come get me after work instead... Also I had one girl from a bar were the barfine was 500, and it was like 2AM, so I told her that I would wait instead for the bar to close, then she just told me that she would go down 500 in price for LT, if I paid barfine. But if she gets like 50% of the barfine back, then it not so strange when you think about it...

I hardly ever BF gals....but the last one was in Patts early this year in a small bar on Soi Diana for Bht100....the next night we stayed together again and went down to her bar before dinner to have a couple of drinks and pay the BF....I was told by the TG bar owner "you look after my girl good.....you no pay barfine OK"
I much prefer the nightclubs anyway.....I like to have a dance and get to know the girls beforehand without being pestered by the lame ducks who try to sit on your arm all night and ask for laydrinks....if this happens i just pick up sticks and find another bar (thanks god Nicke's gals are well drilled in the required social behaviour) .....sure the gals expect more like Bht1500 LT in clubs but at least they are getting teh money directly and have the confidence to go it alone

The next trip to Pattaya, I may try out the gogos there, however, since at 400 BF, that is only 100 more than the beer bars, and some days, it would be worth the extra 100, to save the time of sorting through the beer bar girls there, trying to find one I like.
